Promotional biography
editThe biography from the Binary Finary website, even if posted by Binary Finary's management and therefore with implicit permission, is still not written according to NPOV conventions--as is the case with most promotional bios. The biggest problem is that it contains a plethora of peacock terms. I thought about just deleting the peacock terms but they are integrated pretty deeply into the structure of the paragraphs and without them much of the bio lacks content e.g.:
- Through the creative use of software applications fused with various pieces of hardware they have been able to streamline the musical process into a sublime and emotional play for the listener to enjoy.
becomes:
- Through the use of software applications fused with various pieces of hardware they have been able to streamline the musical process into (something?) for the listener to enjoy.
(ignoring the fact that saying they "streamlined" the musical process is vague at best.)
If its going to be used, it needs to be completely revamped to be more encyclopeadic. --Brentt 17:48, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- Ok thats better, still not the most encyclopedic style but better. (Please don't delete discussions, they are archived when the discussion page gets to big.) --Brentt 20:44, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
No blatant advertising or promoting please
editThe problem mentioned above still exists (I was just to lazy to adress the still serious problems wrote "thats better" above.)
Please do not use wikipedia to promote. If you are a paid promoter of Binary Finary (which the main contributor to this article has stated) you may still contribute, but please write in a encyclopedic fashion. Do not use peacock terms, and stick to information which can be verified. This is not a place to promote, this is a place for encyclopedic information. If a advertiser for McDonald's wrote a sentence in the McDonald's article that said "The best hamburgers in the world!" you wouldn't be suprised if it was changed would you? So please do not take offense to this article being modified. Please contribute in a language and writing style appropriate for an encyclopedia, not a promotional website. Merge proposal
editI have completed the addition of merge banners initiated by User:Radiofan. Looks like it would be the best way to go to me. Jezhotwells (talk)
