The result of the move request was: Not moved. It has been pointed out by two editors that the proposed title is ambiguous given the dual-code player also played rugby league, and as such the consensus here is against the proposal. — Amakuru (talk) 14:34, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
Billy Moore (rugby league, born 1971) → Billy Moore (rugby league) – Apart from dual code players, there are no other rugby league players called Billy Moore with a Wikipedia article. Servite et contribuere (talk) 04:48, 20 March 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk 09:29, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

- Is there some reason why dual-code players should be discounted? They're still rugby league players. * Pppery * it has begun... 13:11, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Pppery Because disambiguation players with (rugby league) should refer to players who only played rugby league and never played rugby union. Disambiguation players with (rugby) should only refer to players who played both codes. Now just in case you aren't aware (No intent for disrespect, even the smartest can learn something new) but although they are similar, rugby league and rugby union are officially completely different sports. Please talk about all the information above I said. I want to hear your thoughts on each one so we can collaborate better. Thank you Servite et contribuere (talk) 16:53, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- In my opinion we should not (barring extremely rare WP:PDAB cases) have situations when a person (or any other type of article) is titled "John Smith (frobnicator)" when there are other John Smiths with articles who are or could reasonably be called frobnicators, even if there is some reason why they wouldn't deserve that title for themselves. Here's another way of thinking about it: Billy Moore (rugby union) exists as a redirect to Billy Moore (rugby, born 1910). If this person had never existed, then it Billy Moore (rugby league) would likewise have been a redirect to Billy Moore (rugby, born 1910). So we have two contenders for the disambiguated title, despite your attempt to portray it as if it were one, and hence neither gets it. * Pppery * it has begun... 17:00, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Pppery Also, rugby league Billy Moore is very likely way more notable considering he is known for starting the chant "Queenslander!" He also is known for being a club legend at the North Sydney Bears whom he played his entire career with. Compared to the Welsh Billy Moore, with relatively little information, only played one test for Wales. Anyways, we can keep discussing, but let's see which arguments other Users will like, support and agree with most. But of course, a very important note; Wikipedia is not about winning Servite et contribuere (talk) 17:25, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- I think we've both made our case at this point and have nothing more to say. Anyway, I've been partaking in these discussions for a while - I've prevailed in some discussions and not in others, and mostly just moved on if I didn't. * Pppery * it has begun... 17:28, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

- Comment While I understand the logic behind the proposed page move, I am not sure a consensus exists for it. There was, for example, a previous discussion here where two player articles were further disambiguated by year of birth because rugby & rugby union were not deemed a clear enough disambiguation for dual-code players. - Oppose. The other rugby player also played rugby league. We try to avoid ambiguity. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:20, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
