Talk:Beyond the Poseidon Adventure

Book edit

There is also a book entitled "Beyond The Poseidon Adventure" which is a sequel to the film, and begins immediately after the ending of "The Poseidon Adventure" The book seems to have suffered the same fate as the original Poseidon Novel, being twisted into an almost unrecognizable version of itself for the film.

Speaking of the book, can someone who owns it redo the book section? It needs much work. Lots42 (talk) 04:53, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have removed the section about the book. It does not seem relevant to the article about the movie, and is so long that it overwhelmed the article. The book does not seem notable enough for a stand-alone article either. --Diannaa (Talk) 16:30, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Beyond the poseidon adventure.jpg edit

Image:Beyond the poseidon adventure.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Is Summary accurate? edit

I checked IMBD's cast list and such, but I couldn't find the three survivors from the last film on the list. And none of the media I have seen show evidence of Ernest Borgnine, Red Buttons, or Jack Albertson appering in the production. Is the summary accurate? Andrewnuva199 (talk) 21:08, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Uh, scratch that. The page does state the summary is one of the book. But to prevent further confusion, I suggest we make a new article for the Beyond the Poseidon Adventure novel, get the story summary there, and have someone make a summary for the movie. There's a suspicious line in the text "They are soon followed by Dr. Stefan Svevo (Telly Savalas) and his crew, who claim to be Greek Orthodox medics who received the ship's SOS"

There's no such thing as Greek Orthodox medics. You can be Greek Orthodox (religion) a Greek medic (profession and nationality) unless they mean that they are Greek medics who happen to be Easter Orthodox Christians.

Is there someone who can check this? Montalban (talk) 23:15, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Reception edit

This section ought to be expanded or deleted entirely. In any case, the original Poseidon Adventure is not a "prequel," so I have changed that. Geoffr111 (talk) 12:45, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
