At Last

"At Last" should be in the singles section, as it was sent to radio. Its article also identifies it as a single, not a promotional single. Pancake (talk) 10:54, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Was sent to radio? Will be sent to radio. Her label has not confirmed anything yet. Jivesh Talk2Me 04:31, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
Jivesh what are you talking about? :) At Last was sent to radio in October 2008. The label does not need to confirm that? Pancake (talk) 09:47, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
I thought we were talking about "Love on top". Sorry. And Beyonce's team always confirms a single's release. Jivesh Talk2Me 13:23, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
A label's confirmation means nothing. RCA Records spoke no word of "Woohoo" at all. And her team actually hasn't always confirmed a single release, when did they say "Broken-Hearted Girl" and "Video Phone" were singles? Doesn't mean they aren't. — Status {talkcontribs  19:19, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
They did for BHG. This is how we got to know that "Sweet Dreams" will be released instead of BHG in June 2009. And for Video Phone, please go to Beyonce's website. You will get all the news. There are even articles about is chart procession on her website. And i simply do not care about Christina Aguilera' "Wohoo" or whatever. How much do you know about Beyonce's team? I am sure you even have not followed how the 4 era has been handled. Jivesh Talk2Me 19:34, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

"Love on Top" - officially released in Australia and NZ

Although "Love On Top" got canned as a single in the US, it was still officially released in Australia and New Zealand, and was actually "Most Added" on the week that it officially impacted Australian radio. "Love On Top" should be moved from the "other songs" section to the "singles" section to reflect this.

Omertop (talk) 05:02, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Just in case you did not know... A song does not need to be added to radio officially for the latter to play it. One more thing, it started gaining airplay immediately after Beyonce's performance. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 05:06, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
The fact that it was most added has already been mentioned in its article. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 05:08, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
True, a song doesn't need to officially go for adds for radios to play it, but "Love on Top" *did* officially go for adds - in Aus and NZ. "List of Beyonce's Singles" does not equate to "List of Beyonce's US singles." Omertop (talk) 05:16, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Do you have a link which is automatically archived? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 05:26, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Nooo I want "Countdown" to be released in Australia :O well anyways I've found this in the archives section. So it was sent to radio in Australia. Oz talk 05:33, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
So does that mean her website was wrong? And where is the video? Why is she moving to "Countdown" without a video? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 05:37, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
And why are so many reliable websites reporting "Countdown" as the third single? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 05:41, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Jivesh, I still think LOT was scrapped, it received no press release, no single cover, whereas "Countdown" did. For some reason, Australian radio is still playing LOT. o_O Oz talk 05:51, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Exactly Oz, Australia is not the only country in the world which is playing LOT. In fact, the whole world is playing it. It already in the top 60 in US on Urban, UAC, and top 100 on Rhythmic. It is also gaining considerable airplay in Germany, Spain, Netherlands (it bubbled there), and the UK (it charted there). But all that does not make it a single. LOT was indeed scrapped. The world outside Wikipedia is already aware of that. Otherwise, it should have been given the same treatment as "Countdown". ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 05:57, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Jivesh, plenty of singles are promoted to radio without videos. It doesn't mean they're "not singles." And whether or not Beyonce's label has chosen to move on in Australia, the fact remains that Love On Top has already been **OFFICIALLY** released there, regardless of whether or not it was elsewhere. It received an official AllAccess-style release listing. It was officially sent to radio. It had an official impact date. It's a single. Not an "other charted song." 99.251.248.81 (talk) 06:14, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Allaccess??? My dear, they removed it in case you are not aware. A logical explanation is that radios added it to their playlist because big stations added it after the VMAs, then later others followed it. Did you check Allaccess? By the way, R&R (which in my opinion is more reliable) has already removed it and Allaccess followed. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 06:18, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I know it was removed - from US radio impact lists. Its official impact date in Oz was September 14, and it wasn't removed beforehand; it, well, "impacted." Does anyone know where something like a history of Oz radio impact dates can be found online? I've seen the info reposted by people with access a few times, but that obviously wouldn't suffice as a "source," I suppose. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.251.248.81 (talk) 06:32, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
No. And anyway, it was not sent to radio. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 06:59, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Free Albums

I do not think it necessary to put the discography the free albums, which basically just talk about positions and certifications. Because it will never have sales data and not receive certification. this is the case with the album EP "Heat". Silencio faz bem (talk) 21:23, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Hmm, nice point. Should we do another section for it? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 07:19, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
I think it would fit in the "Other Albums", with the note explaining the origin of the product, in this case, a CD that comes for free, with the purchase of fragrance "Heat". Silencio faz bem (talk) 07:25, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Add Italy

Should put Italy on the charts since it was launched there only a single (I Care). You can add or change some graphic to Italy. I suggest changing Ireland or the Netherlands as they do not certify singles. Silencio faz bem (talk) 17:50, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Wait, let the discussion on that page finish,. by the way, half of Beyonce's singles do not chart in Italy. So there is no point for that (at least not now). Jivesh1205 (Talk) 18:06, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
What do you think of putting more a chart? "Singles by Region" or other name.... So would rank better singles like "I Care", "Ring the Alarm", "Green Light", which were only launched in just one country or region. Silencio faz bem (talk) 18:21, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
We cannot do that. By convention we choose ten only. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 18:23, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Ireland cannot be removed: en.wikipedia.org is ENGLISH Wikipedia which is also the language spoken in Ireland. For Netherlands, I don't get why this country is added. But still, I think Netherlands cannot be replaced by Italy because a lots B songs are charted there. Just saying... — 78.127.199.70 (talk) 18:49, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Unification of singles

Every song who is release is SINGLE. What differs is only the format, just. Separates them is a mistake. I unifiquei all as a single, putting her in the infobox format release. I hope you understand. SINGLE AS SONGWRITER/GRILLZ

This is a superficial section because it is Destiny's Child with Kelly Rowland and other members.

Grillz is a song by Nelly. Beyoncé don't sing for nothing. She is a one of many writers of the lyrics between Rowland and Williams. promotional singles

reading this article I have to say I love the fact how all failed singles of Beyoncé became promotional singles on wikipedia Szaboci (talk) 23:34, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Stupid comment. From 4, the song that failed the most [in the US] is "Countdown" and if you have eyes, you can see it's a single. — 78.127.30.84 (talk) 23:39, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

So can somebody please explain to me how Upgrade You and Party are promo singles? Party according to my understanding cannot possibly be a promo single as it was released to urban radio well after the album's release (which means it was long before commercially available) and it has since peaked at number 2 on the R&B component chart!Szaboci (talk) 09:20, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Add soundtrack albums

A soundtrack album is considered to be an artist when he has more than 51% share of the album. This rule is being applied in albums by Beyoncé: 'The Fighting Temptations' and 'Dreamgirls' and therefore should be added to his discography. Silencio faz bem (talk) 17:47, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Incorrect number of albums sold

The link to the citation claiming 118 million album sales world-wide is not actually verified in the article. The Newstateman article no longer exists, or else the link is broken. The New York Times article (http://www.webcitation.org/mainframe.php) only claims 78 million. If the 118 million is correct, it needs to be verified by a different source besides the Newstatesman and NYT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aas2261 (talkcontribs) 08:39, 7 May 2013 (UTC) http://origin-qps.onstreammedia.com/origin/multivu_archive/PRNA/ENR/FX-MM26479-20121210-PEPSI_BEYONCE_FACT_SHEET.pdf In this fact sheet stands that she has sold more than 100 million albums

I think...

4: The Remix should be in the extended plays table because it's an EP and the other two albums should be in the other releases table because they're not compilation albums. 0z (talk) 22:08, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

I agree with you about 4: The Remix, but Dangerously in Love / Live at Wembley is a package of two albums - thus a compilation release. Above and Beyoncé is an album of remixes of previously released material. Remix albums are usually deemed to be a type of compilation; e.g. see Lady Gaga discography. Adabow (talk) 00:40, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
OK I've googled Above and Beyoncé: Video Collection & Dance Mixes and a lot of sources refer to it as a compilation. So 4: The Remix is the only one that needs to be moved. 0z (talk) 03:19, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Compilation Albums

I seriously don't understand why Above and Beyoncé and Dangerously In Love / Live At Wembley are listed as compilation albums on this article. Lets define a 'compilation album'. This is an album with different songs taken from different studio albums. For example, Destiny's Child's Love Songs and #1's are compilation albums. Now, Above and Beyoncé is a remix EP and music videos. I think it would only make sense to put it under EP's. I'm not sure about Dangerously in Love / live At wembley, but I know for a fact Beyoncé has never released a compilation album as a solo artist. Please fix this! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarcusLovesBey (talkcontribs) 18:06, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure what to do with Above and Beyoncé: Video Collection & Dance Mixes, but I would say that Dangerously in Love / Live at Wembley is more of a box set, just as Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience – The Complete Experience: two albums sold together as one item. But as I was starting an article for The Complete Experience, another user changed the type in the infobox form "box set" to "compilation album", saying that box sets have 3 or more discs. BTW, box sets are mentioned in the compilation album article as one of its common types. So I guess I would leave Dangerously in Love / Live at Wembley in the "Compilation albums" section. — Mayast (talk) 19:32, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

The certifications on Beyoncé's discography page for her album, 4, can be updated with the entire list of certifications that appears on her actual Wikipedia page for the album, 4. The album has been certified in France, Poland, and Russia, but is left out of the discography certifications list for that specific album.

List of certifications from 4 discography section:

RIAA: Platinum [33] ARIA: Platinum [51] BPI: 2× Platinum [35] IRMA: Platinum [52] MC: Gold [53] RMNZ: Gold [50] SNEP: Gold ZPAV: Platinum NFPF: Gold

Unlisted certifications found from 4 album page:

France (SNEP) Gold [193] Poland (ZPAV) Platinum [196] Russia (NFPF) Gold [197]

71.197.50.228 (talk) 05:31, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Certifications can only be listed for the same countries for which chart positions are included in the table, and their max number is 10:
"A limit of approximately 10 separate charts is suggested, using any combination of country, component, or competing charts. (...) Certifications for countries whose peaks are not shown should also be left out of the per-release listing, per WP:INDISCRIMINATE." (WP:DISCOGSTYLE#Per-release). — Mayast (talk) 08:16, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

World's top ten biggest music markets

There are 10 columns of countries, but was taken as the choice of these countries? there is little relevant there, and large markets outside, and did a search of the ten largest music markets, and found a reliable source about it. HERE: [2] They are in order, United states, japan, united kingdom, germany, france, australia, canada, Brazil, italy and holland. I'm suggesting the change, what do you think? The change would be good because it would increase the relevance of the page. Silencio faz bem (talk) 20:49, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Before changing the countries, it would be good to have a look at chart positions in these ten countries. Per WP:DISCOGSTYLE#Per-release, "a good rule of thumb is to go by the relative success of the artist on that chart." For instance, if the chart positions in Japan or Brazil are lower than in Ireland, I wouldn't change that. Plus, from a practical point of view, I think it's much easier to follow the Irish albums chart than to follow the Brazilian or Japanese charts when most editors don't speak Portuguese or Japanese ;) Mayast (talk) 21:18, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
Anyway, I think US R&B albums could be removed to make room for another country, as all Beyoncé's albums have also charted at no. 1 on Billboard 200. But I wouldn't remove US R&B songs from the singles table. Mayast (talk) 21:23, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
Yes, BB R&B Albums is unnecessary, better put a country (another) that has certifications. In the Charts, in Brazil it's difficult, i agree, Sasha and Four have a peak 2 and 1, and these albums, more the visual album have certifications in Brazil, Diamond and multiplatinum. In singles, exists sources since Sasha's ERA. Ladies, If i Were a Boy, Diva and Halo peaked at #1, and others are a good peak. In Japan, it's easy in albums. A good source HERE: [2] All Beyoncé's Albums, including Live albums enter in the chart, and have certifications too, Live at Wembley is Gold there. And the Singles charts, exists Billboard Japan Chart[3] Silencio faz bem (talk) 22:06, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
I would be OK with adding Oricon chart for albums (for example instead of US R&B), as it's supported by {{albumchart}} template and already used in multiple discography articles. As for Brazil, I have no idea for example where to look for the official national chart and the certifications, so I guess this chart might be a bit tricky to use for many editors (including me). I think it would be best not to add it to Beyoncé discography article, and start with something more simple: adding Brazilian chart positions and certifications to the "Charts" sections in the albums' articles. Anyway, I'm curious what others think about it. Mayast (talk) 22:33, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Hot 100 dance chart

Due to the recent success of 'partition', beyonce has now accumulated 20 number ones on the hot 100 dance chart, only the third person to do so behind madonna (43) and rihanna (22), plus establishing some 36 top 10 hits on the chart, therefore would you consider listing this as one of the charts on display for the discography next to the hot 100 and hot r&b songs? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.200.233.92 (talk) 18:04, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the sentence: The album produced the top-three hit "Drunk in Love".

Drunk in Love actually reached #2 on Billboard Hot 100 therefore it'd be considered a top-two hit, not top-three.

Is there a reason for the lack of an other appearances section? This would include songs that haven't appeared on an album listed on this page and haven't been released as singles, like Back to Black. Adabow (talk) 00:55, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

I would also like to add that Beyoncé has sold over 120 million records WW, not 75 million. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.153.114.3 (talk) 08:46, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Soundtracks?

Anyone else thinks that their should be a section dedicated to soundtracks Beyoncé has appeared? I think it would be appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.10.211 (talk) 04:16, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

BEYONCÉ PLATINUM

Why is Beyoncé Play listed as box set and in the EP section? Yes, I know it makes sense, but it's also confusing... The box set should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.153.115.8 (talk) 17:21, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Remove "R&B Charts".

How relevant R&B chart is? I think that France charts, Japonese or Italian charts is more important. See music's biggest market. Silencio faz bem (talk) 20:00, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Beyoncé WW Sales

(I transfer my doubt here from the other article's talk page.)

According to MediaTraffic, the album BEYONCÉ has sold 1,4 Million copies in 2013 and 2,289 Million copies in 2014. Total=3,689 WW in two years. I personally don't believe in the UK charts source that usually gets what the record label says.

By the way, she only sold 2,2 Million in the US... that means she has sold like 3 Million outside the US? that's probably impossible. I guess this needs another source.

Requeste

Above the "Extended Play", "Soundtracks" and "Compilation" positions charts there's written "live albums", which should be changed. --212.189.140.221 (talk) 15:32, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

Drunk In Love has been certified Platinum in New Zealand. I'm confused as to where I'm supposed to get the source though. Why haven't you put the Italy - Gold certification for Drunk In Love in the list of certifications for that song?

Asanders1011 (talk) 19:41, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

It has not been certified Platinum in NZ (or if it has, we have no way of knowing); the last week it was in the chart was 24 March, and it has a gold certification then. I have corrected the Drunk in Love article. Italy certifications are not listed as we only use certifications from the nine countries that we list charts for on this discography page. Adabow (talk) 19:57, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
So the only way to see New Zealand's current song certifications is if it is charting on that chart. Do they not have a site where you can look up a song, and see it's current certification. America, Canada, and Great Britain have it.

Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack + layout

@JennKR: What happened to this article? Beyoncé is not even credited on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, and the "Overview" section should be the lead instead. (talk) 14:01, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

"Check on It" is not on B'Day

From the article introduction: After the disbandment of Destiny's Child in 2005,[13] Beyoncé released "Check on It" featuring Slim Thug for The Pink Panther soundtrack.[14] The single topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for five weeks,[15] and was later included on her second studio album, B'Day (2006), which produced six singles, including top-ten hits "Déjà Vu", "Irreplaceable" and "Beautiful Liar".

NOTE: "The single" in sentence two refers to "Check on It," which was not a track on Beyoncé's second studio album, B'day. Whoops. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.180.250.39 (talk) 20:43, 11 December 2017 (UTC)

@140.180.250.39: "Check on It" was included on the international edition of B'Day as a bonus track. Check B'Day (Beyoncé album). Ss112 00:25, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
I think it is confusing to say a single was included on an album when it was only included as a bonus track on some of the releases. Maybe it should say that specifically, or better yet, not at all, since the fact that Check On It was a bonus track on some editions of B'day might not warrant mention in the introduction of her discography.140.180.246.75 (talk) 22:58, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
@140.180.246.75: The fact that it was a bonus track on international editions of B'Day isn't in the lead. It's only included as part of B'Day's rowspan in the table. This is standard for other discographies; if it appeared on an edition of the album and could be demonstrably proved to be partially released in promotion of that release, then it's included. Same thing with "Focus" only being on the Japanese edition of Dangerous Woman but being included in the rowspan for that album on Ariana Grande discography. Ss112 06:46, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Collaboration certifications not being allowed

Why are US certifications from collaborations featuring Beyoncé not being allowed? The label of the lead artist of a song certifies the song, but the units to achieve the certification are not solely from the lead artist. Gaknowitall (talk) 08:50, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

Replacing Switzerland charts

Switzerland is not a major music market for Beyoncé, and she has more extensive stats in Scotland and Brazil. Switzerland should be replaced with either of these two markets. Gaknowitall (talk) 08:55, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

Scotland is part of the UK. Its charts contribute to the overall placement of the song or entry on the UK charts. Yes, we allow the Scottish charts on song and album articles, but for it to take the place of a separate nation as a column on discographies (to give a better overall reflection of Beyoncé's chart reflection) is generally discouraged. Ss112 05:58, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
Majority of discography pages include the countries in which the respective artist have the most extensive chart history. In Beyoncé's case, Brazil or even Belgium are larger markets than Switzerland. Gaknowitall (talk) 21:54, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

Number 1 Albums

Text reads, "With Lemonade, Beyoncé became the first act in history to have six consecutive number one albums in the US.[26]" Source though says that "Beyonce is the only act to reach No. 1 with their first six studio efforts (and the only act to debut atop the list with their first six)." Which is a bit different. For example, Eminem has released 7 consecutive Number 1 albums. However his first album was an indy and his first major label album only hit #2. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffsang (talkcontribs) 22:45, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

Everything Is Love

Why is this album and it's singles listed under the "Beyoncé" discography page when it is officially credited as "The Carters", which have their own article and discography section? There is no reason for it to be listed here as well, otherwise Destiny's Child's work should be too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by StatsFreak (talkcontribs) 12:17, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Special Release Sections??

Considering how many tracks she's released online, it may be good to include a Special releases section to include all them like other artists such as Marina and the Diamonds have on their discography. --Ottamieh (talk) 03:55, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
