Bethnal Green and Bow (UK Parliament constituency) → Bethnal Green and Bow — The current pages Bethnal Green and Bow and Bethnal Green & Bow both redirect here. Given the obvious inclusion of both Bethnal Green and Bow in the name of the constituency, there is little to no chance that it would be mistaken for either location individually. 75.154.126.160 (talk) 23:36, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Oppose I am afraid that there is a convention that all constituencies should have the qualifier "(UK Parliament constituency)". Maybe this should be changed, but it should be raised at the appropriate project page. PatGallacher (talk) 22:15, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Oppose for the same reason. All constituency articles have the suffix, it means you always know what the article name will be. Sussexonian (talk) 19:24, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Oppose as above.Lozleader (talk) 23:26, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Oppose as above; consistency is a useful characteristic in this sort of thing. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:51, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Why is the article backwards?

editThe references to the Conservative candidate in the 1974 elections should link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Murphy (I'm afraid I don't know how to do this) Martin Lunnon — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.112.69.219 (talk) 17:06, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Spurious different e sound in Bethnal depending on class-based system of speech is hilarious!
editNo-one with modern even aristocratic class or RP would say "Beythnal" or anything approaching that - whoever has written about the different e sound has not studied changes in 20th century upper class accents; even before 1945 only a minority of aristocrats and newscasters would have said "Beythnal". In any event on a positive note I am keeping both the other pronunciations but with a full and proper sound guide template for interest purposes. However in estuary English it is vexed question as to whether all users or even most users say the hard 'TH' as 'F'.- Adam37 Talk 18:09, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
