Please do not change the words shown as borrowings on this page. It's not that the revisions being made are misspelled - it's that they're simply not appropriate. The words kuŗi "twenty", khoka "boy", and ţhêng "leg" are shown as examples of words borrowed from indigenous Austroasiatic languages. I know that in my own speech, these words are normally replaced by bish, chhele, and pa, but these words (bish, chhele, and pa) are not borrowed from Austroasiatic languages. Those three are actually native (tôdbhôb) words. It doesn't matter that they mean the same thing - the words still come from different languages and that's what this article is about. This article subscribe to the Aryanist doctrine. Bengali did not originate in Sanskrit or in Magadh. It is a falsity that Aryanists and so called experts push. -- NOVO
