It seems this article is being written with taking uncheckable affirmation from one side as a truth while presenting claims from other sources as a lie. It is not balanced at all. Some of the issues:

1) Captured 60 loyalists => Uncheckable 2) Anti Gaddafi victory while the other side claim the contrary and while even opposition side say that there are still battle 3) The claim of governements "could not be verfied independatly" while the the claims of rebels could not be as well but no mention of that.

Well, let's see:

1) If you'd like, you can add a non-verifiable disclaimer to the POW count. They are on most battle pages of this war regarding belligerent claims that have not been verified, so I don't think anyone will have a problem with that.

2) That issue seems to have already been taken care of.

3) The claims of the government about the tribesmen from Bani Walid cannot be verified independently. They are just claims and the only one regarding this battle thus far from the government. Al Jazeera on the other hand has been in the town and has seen it in rebel hands. Unless you've got something more recent that can independently verify Kaim's claim, leave it. If you want it completely balanced, you can attach disclaimers to all the rebel claims that cannot be independently reconciled given the available sources/information and that have not already been disclaimed. Like I said, I don't think anyone will have a problem with that.

Well, AJ just aired a correspondent from the town, there is some shooting but rebels apparently are largely in control.I guess we will see in a couple of hours.--MyMoloboaccount (talk) 13:14, 13 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

According to Al Jazerra, Al Jazeera's Andrew Simmons, reporting from Tawurgha, said it was a heavily co-ordinated operation with NATO, with six tanks involved. "Fighting is going on in the old quarter of the town where Gaddafi forces are still putting up some resistance," he said. That report was from two days ago. Sources since then have updated casualty tolls and quotes from rebel commanders who say the fighting is over and they were victorious. -Kudzu1 (talk) 16:29, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and United Nations report on the battle of Tawergha about ethnic cleansing and genocide edit

Hi. I think we should update this article with a section about the ethnic cleansing and genocide reports during and after the battle of Tawergha.

It is still ongoing to this day and Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and de United Nations have written extensive reports on this event.

I've downloaded a couple of the reports and put them in a docs directory on my website because I was afraid the links would change or the files would be removed (the UN report download from the original source gave a username and password popup)

This article shouldn't be written by me as I used to live in Tawergha when I was a kid so that doesn't make me a objective source. The link to the UN 2012 report should not point to my website (http://www.sealiberty.com/journey/africa/libya.html) but if it points to the original source the reader gets password and username popups so I hope Wikipedia has an alternative store for documents.
