John Wood edit

This artist has been removed from the article. http://www.artbathspa.com/research/fine-art/john_wood.htm .See also- http://channel.tate.org.uk/media/33683228001. I think an article on these two will be forthcoming. Info-http://www.artfacts.net/en/artist/john-wood-paul-harrison-37382/profile.html Francis E Williams (talk) 16:55, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Create the article if you think the person is notable, then add to the alumni listing. I would suggest they are less notable as individuals than they are collectively as Wood & Harrison, in which case an article about the two may be more appropriate than two individual articles. --Simple Bob (talk) 17:14, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I only used this deletion of the artist to emphasise my point about "notability" in articles. I don`t think that I personally will create the article about the "up-and-coming" duo (Laurel & Hardy) of the art world. But no doubt someone will if they, (Wood & Harrison) become famous enough in the future. I have about a year or so left at the present rate of deteriation of my eyes to be able to contribute to Wiki. I understand that this reference works standing, (Wiki), can only be improved by retaining useful, (but not all), links to individuals of merit. Places are not so important to historical culture, but personal contributions are (in my own opinion).Francis E Williams (talk) 18:06, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merger with Bath Spa University edit

The school has no separate status with Ofsted, all its web links links come back to Bath Spa University. Perhaps it could be transferred in as a new Historical section?.Francis E Williams (talk) 21:49, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Although the School of Art and Design is part of Bath Spa University I feel it has a long enough separate history to have its own article. There are other examples of particular parts of Universities having separate articles eg University of Bath School of Management, School of Creative Arts, Bristol, Glenside, Bristol, School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences (UWE), Victoria Rooms (Bristol) etc. I will add the merge banner to the Bath Spa article with a pointer to the discussion here to try to generate more interest/comment, but I don't think it needs to be merged.— Rod talk 17:56, 3 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Having now looked at this article in more detail, I'm even more convinced it should have its own article. Over 90% of its history is before Bath Spa was invented.— Rod talk 20:48, 12 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I also oppose a merger. Bath School of Art was founded in 1852 and had a long notable history before merging into Bath Spa University. Retaining that history in the University (recently founded) article would seriously unbalance it. Rwendland (talk) 23:12, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
As there was no consensus for the merge I have removed the banners.— Rod talk 10:02, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
