Homer was buttered up

edit

An edit war seems to have occured on this page over the fact that Homer approved of Bart's part time job with Fat Tony. Part of the reason for the edit war is that there was poor grammar, but another reason is that it seems to make it that Homer is his usual dumb self. Looking at the scene where Homer is playing cards with the mobsters, he says "Woo hoo! Read them and weep, boys, a pair of sixes!" The mobsters clearly have stacked decks of multiple aces with differing brand names, but they are intentionally folding their hands and saying "You beat us again, Homer!" and allowing Homer to win the pot. Fat Tony clearly knew that Bart's mother would get concerned and conspired with his men to get Homer's approval by buttering him up through gambling winnings. Homer clearly was not smart to be gambling, but the article just flat out says "Homer actually approves of them", as if he is sympathetic to Fat Tony. USN1977 (talk) 19:52, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article no longer says "Homer actually approves of them" (the "actually" has been removed to sound less sympathetic). Remember, this is a plot summary, so we are supposed to go over the main plot points in as little detail as possible. "because Fat Tony and the others butter up Homer by making it that he intetionally wins money playing cards with them" is too much detail. See Wikipedia:How to write a plot summary.
