Numbering the barons

Is there an explanation of the discrepancy between the Wikipedia numbering of of the Barons Willoughby de Eresby and that of other sources? For example; is Peregrine Bertie (Born in Wesel), the twelfth or thirteenth baron? (RJP 21:36, 24 October 2005 (UTC))

redirecting the 6th baron

Why is the page about the 6th baron redirected to the page about the barony? Could the baron page not be deleted instead of the redirect?

Heya, da ich dein Blanking, also dein Entfernen des Redirect, zurückgesetzt habe will ich dir mal antworten. Was du gemacht hattest entspricht so nicht den Regeln, Artikel die nun einmal bestehen, werden nicht weiß gelassen, sprich ohne Inhalt. In Frage käme daher nur ein vollständiges Löschen der Seite, was wiederum hier nur ein Admin kann. Deshalb solltest du dir mal Wikipedia:Delete durchlesen, dort steht das Prozedere beschrieben. In Kürze sagt es aus, dass du je nach Art der Seite einen Antrag auf Löschung stellen musst, unter Angaben von Gründen, worüber je nachdem diskutiert wird und je nach Ergebnis verfahren wird.

Der Redirect selbst wurde erstellt, um als Ausweichsmöglichkeit zu dienen, daher der Zusatz 'with possibilities'. Wenn auf der Hauptseite, auf deren Diskussion wir ja uns ja gerade befinden, zuviel über den 6ten Baron steht, soll diese Information zu dem Artikel über ihn übertragen werden, um die Hauptseite nicht überzustrapazieren mit Informationen, die vom Bezug eigentlich dorthin gar nicht gehören. Carola Eloise Ramsden

She's the daughter (and only child) of Lady Catherine H-D-W, elder daughter of the 2nd Earl of Ancaster (and 26th Baron Willoughby de Eresby). Sir John Aird is the only son (he has three sisters) of Lady Priscilla H-D-W, the younger daughter. Proteus (Talk) 17:51, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Ramsden revisted

How is that the only son of the current holder is a "co-heir" with his female cousin? If this is actually the case, we need some sort of reference (preferably one freely available online, elsewise one including a quote) and a fuller explanation of the situation. -Rrius (talk) 20:16, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Sir John Aird, Bt is not the son of the current holder, they're cousins. Carola actually died in August this year so he's now co-heir with her eldest son. Craigy (talk) 19:32, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
