This peerage seems to have been created firstly for Ralph Boteler (1394-1473) soldier and administrator, was the youngest surviving son of Thomas Boteler of Sudeley, Gloucestershire, and Alice (d. 1443), daughter of Sir John Beauchamp of Powick, Worcestershire. He was probably born in or about 1394. Thomas Boteler died in 1398, and Ralph became his father's heir only after the deaths without heirs of his elder brothers, John (d. 1410) and William (d. 1417). Meanwhile, Ralph's long-lived mother in 1406 married Sir John Dalyngrigg of Bodiam, Kent, holding in dower the manors of Sudeley (the Boteler family seat in Gloucestershire), Dassett, and Grift.

I presume this needs added. --Counter-revolutionary 16:38, 15 October 2007 (UTC) Please update the german article. I can't do myself because of corruption there.84.167.88.131 (talk) 18:38, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
