Five rights?

edit

This is the line I would like to update: Bar code medication administration (BCMA) is a barcode system designed by Glenna Sue Kennick to prevent medication errors in healthcare settings and improve the quality and safety of medication administration. The overall goals of BCMA are to improve accuracy, prevent errors, and generate online records of medication administration. As of the year 2004, hospitals were mandated by the government to start using the BCMA for all prescription drugs.TLund (talk) 20:11, 27 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

the right medicine at the right dose at the right time by the right route... that's only four "rights". Can someone explain what the fifth "right" is?--Pgallert (talk) 10:11, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I would like to update the website by adding the government regulations for bar code label requirements prior to administrationTLund (talk) 22:47, 18 September 2017 (UTC) I would like to do this using this information from the FDA site on Bar Code Label Requirements[1]TLund (talk) 23:59, 18 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I would like to add more information about medication administration errors and relate them to the five rights. I plan to analyze each of the rights and include information about the effects of administration error. Shilpaus76 (talk) 01:35, 22 September 2017 (UTC)shilpaus76Reply
