Proposed changes for consideration

Dear Wikipedians,

Hello! I'm writing on behalf of Banyan Tree Holdings (also known as Banyan Tree Group) as a paid employee. I had noticed some outdated information in this article, and would like to highlight the below suggested changes for consideration. Thank you!

Specific text to be added or removed:

1. "Banyan Tree Holdings Limited is a Singaporean multinational hospitality brand that manages and develops resorts, hotels and spas in Asia, America, Africa and Middle East."

May I suggest adding to the sentence, as follows: "Banyan Tree Holdings Limited (also known as Banyan Tree Group) is a Singaporean multinational hospitality brand that manages and develops resorts, hotels and spas in Asia, America, Africa and Middle East."

2. "As of 2014, there are 36 resorts and hotels. 2015 will see one addition to the list in Morocco and two more in China. Under their management are also 70 spas, 77 retail galleries, and 3 championship golf courses in 23 countries. It has been 20 years since the first Banyan Tree resort opened in Phuket."

May I suggest the following, with an update to all numbers as of 2021: "As of 2021, the company operates 55 resorts and hotels. Under their management are also 63 spas, 64 retail galleries, and 3 championship golf courses in 23 countries. It has been 28 years since the first Banyan Tree resort opened in Phuket, Thailand, in 1994."

3. "The group has 3 brands, Banyan Tree, an all-villa concept which pioneered pool villas and tropical garden spa. Angsana Hotels & Resorts, which provides a range of recreational activities and suited for families and friends, as well as Cassia, a holiday apartment concept with first property to launch in 2017."

May I suggest the following, with an update to all numbers as of 2021: "The group has 10 brands, which includes Banyan Tree, an all-villa concept which pioneered pool villas and the tropical garden spa; Angsana, Cassia, Dhawa and Laguna, as well as newly-launched brands of Homm, Garrya, Folio and two new Banyan Tree brand extensions, Banyan Tree Escape and Banyan Tree Veya."

4. Remove list of hotels that have since closed or are no longer owned or managed by Banyan Tree Holdings:

• Banyan Tree Ungasan
• Banyan Tree Acapulco
• Banyan Tree Seychelles
• Banyan Tree Al Wadi
• Banyan Tree Ras Al Khaimah Beach

5. Add list of hotels that have opened since the last article update:

• Cassia Bintan (Indonesia)
• Banyan Tree Krabi (Thailand)
• Banyan Tree Cabo Marques (Mexico)
• Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana (Mexico)
• Banyan Tree Puebla (Mexico)
• Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria (Cuba)
• Dhawa Phuket (Thailand)
• Banyan Tree Nanjing Garden Expo (China)
• Homm Bliss Southbeach Patong (Thailand)
• Garrya Huzhou Lucun (China)

6. Tweak spelling errors or changes in existing hotel names:

• Banyan Tree Chongqing Beibei
• Angsana Xi'an Lintong
• Banyan Tree's Wellbeing Sanctuary (replacing Banyan Tree Spa Sanctuary)
• Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur Managed by Banyan Tree (replacing Banyan Tree Pavilion)

7. Logo is outdated, would it be possible to replace it with the latest as seen in the website? https://www.banyantree.com/

Reason for the requested edits:

• Updating number of resorts, spas, retail galleries and brands to the latest count as of 2021.
• Updating changes in hotel names, removing hotels that are closed, and adding those that have opened since the last article edit.
• Requesting to update logo to the new version.

 Done with edits partly to avoid the need for future updates when the newer brands are no-longer considered newly-launched. If I may request an additional two edits, could you kindly help with the following as well?

- Angsana XiAn Lintong should be "Angsana Xi'an Lintong".

- Banyan Tree's Wellbeing Sanctuary is a concept of the Banyan Tree brand, rather than a resort, hence its location isn't just in Thailand. May I suggest either including this in the description or history section, or as a separate list under "Global".

Proposed update

Dear Wikipedians,

Hello! I'm writing on behalf of Banyan Tree Holdings (also known as Banyan Tree Group) as a paid employee.

I would like to propose a few edits.

The logo is outdated, the group has a new Banyan Tree Group logo now.]

We have launched a new group website - https://banyantreegroup.com/.

We operate 64 hotels and resorts as of December 2022, the current one says 55 which is outdated.

In the history if we can add about the brand expansion announced in early 2022, reference here.

The group also opened their first Banyan Tree Escape in 2022, reference here.

The group also entered Japan officially with two properties - Dhawa & Garrya in 2022, reference here.

Appreciate the support and assist in editing and updating the page to be accurate.

Possible move from Banyan Tree Holdings → Banyan Group

I've observed recent edits to this article which indicate that the name of the company has changed. I've uploaded the logo as requested. This article may need to be relocated to Banyan Group but I am unfamiliar with the subject. Just happened to come across the edits at WP:RC. I have no connection with the editor currently modifying the article, just to clarify; they appear to be modifying the article according to the website information. Banyan Group is committed to remain the leading advocate of sustainable travel, with a focus on regenerative tourism and innovative programmes that elevate the guest experience. Thanks for the reply. This is on my watchlist so I see your additions, but would suggest using the "request edit" tag in order to have reviewers see it. I would not be willing to make the change as it is again too promotional. You need to thnink from the standpoint of what a reader would want to see on Wikipedia, not what the company wants people to know about them. The sentence "Banyan Group is committed to remain the leading advocate of sustainable travel, with a focus on regenerative tourism and innovative programmes that elevate the guest experience" is company-speak and something more appropriate for its website than an encyclopedia entry. @Addie BGBC, as per my edit summary on the article, please wait for other editors to make the changes for you. CNMall41 had noted that the proposed edit is still promotional and I am inclined to agree with him.
