editAs a native of Ballyclough, I object to the misspelling of the town's name. Please correct the spelling at once. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.71.69.194 (talk) 11:24, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

editHi there, Sir Richmond Barry's house was in Ballyclough, Kilworth. Different Ballyclough 86.44.223.197 (talk) 13:52, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. And thanks for your note.
- RE: "Richmond Barry's house". I don't see a reference to a Richmond Barry/house in the article. I do see a mention of Redmond Barry. Is this who we mean?
- RE: "Ballyclough in Kilworth". Where is the Ballyclough in/near Kilworth? Is it a townland, parish or just the name of a house/estate? By reference, perhaps to townlands.ie or the Placenames Commission database, can you identify the "other" Ballyclough? Is it this one perhaps? And do you have any refs or context to help clarify one-way-or-the-other?
- In short, you could very well be right and whoever added the text to this article could have confused the two, but (without references/evidence either way) it's hard to be definitive and correct.
- Thanks again. Guliolopez (talk) 14:17, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Resolved Thanks. That seems pretty definitive alright. I've removed the claim from the text. As, at the very least, the existing reference doesn't clarify which Ballyclogh/Ballyclough is in question. And that source seems to establish that it is the one near Fermoy that is relevant. Not the subject here, which is the one near Mallow. (I've also made an attempt at correcting the Redmond Barry article and updating the Kilworth article.) Thanks again.
