Disambiguation style edit

Note: There is a proposal at WT:AURD#Move_articles_to_bracket_disambiguation to rename this article (and others) to conform to the WP:AURDNAME guideline – specifically, using brackets instead of a comma for disambiguation. - Evad37 [talk] 08:31, 18 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Eastern end edit

Does anyone have an authoritative answer for where the eastern end of Ballarat Road is? The junction table says it's Geelong Road, Google Maps suggests it is Lynchs Bridge over the Marybyrnong River (so that is where I have put the map dot coordinates). Google Streetview seems to show signs at the Geelong Road intersection that Ballarat Road runs (west and) east from there, but I haven't found a sign to say it ends or starts anywhere in particular. Thanks. --Scott Davis Talk 15:07, 12 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Former NH Shield edit

Was just wondering if anybody has hard evidence that Ballarat road used to be signed with a NH Shield. Anonymous user keeps on re implementing said shield without discussion. Unless there is hard evidence that Ballarat road was signed as NH 8/ NH M8, I think that there are grounds to remove those 2 shields from the former route numbers box. Technically, Ballarat Road (as the Western Highway) was a National Highway between the SA border and Flemington Road, and so should have been marked as such. There's this old sign with a NH8 shield, taken a few hundred metres west of the intersection of Ballarat and Geelong Roads, Footscray. This is what the sign looks like today: note the SR8 coverplate.
There's also this, at the intersection of Station and Ballarat Roads at Deer Park. It's from Google Street View, and clearly shows the NH M8 shield along Ballarat Road west of the Western Ring Road: note the date is 2007, from before the Deer Park bypass was opened. Does this help?
