Proposal of Bad Girls Club cast section biography

edit

The "cast" section of the Bad Girls Club (season 7) had their biographies in the table. This was asked during the proposed merger of "List of Bad Girls Club participants" and on the talk page of User:MikeAllen. However, I understand the rules about WP:BLPs but the sources were backed from the episodes themselves. The episodes were used as a WP:SECONDARY source since there's no WP:RS on shows similar to The Bad Girls Club. There were two other sources for cast mate "Tiara" that are WP:RS since they came from a newspaper of the cast members' hometown. While I was away, this was removed intentionally from IPs. When I had came back, I restored the information but it was subsequently removed by User:Junebea1 because it was "Unnecessary information". If so, all The Real World seasons have theirs. I don't want to keep reverting and have a WP:3RR war here. So instead I'll just go by what the majority of the community thinks would be beneficial for the article. AJona1992 (talk) 00:45, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I do agree with the removal of how it (was) presented because it doesn't seem to be written in a WP:NPOV such with things like "During episode one, Shelly confirmed accusations of her being a lesbian". That's written like it's a big deal or something. We shouldn't take what they say in episodes and create a biography about them, like "[Judi] also claims to be the "life of Facebook", with an unconfirmed claim of over 5,000 friends". This is trivia: "Throughout episode one, Judi claimed to have known rapper Shawty Lo. However, Shawty Lo disclosed that he is not affiliated with Judi in anyway, responding on his Twitter account, while Judi posted a picture of the two as a source." While this is useful: "After the season was done filming, Tiara lunched her Signature Lipstick Collection called "Boojie by Tiara" which is projected to be sold in stores in the fall of 2011, with Yagolicious Cosmetics distributing the product".The Real World bios are sourced with by their MTV biography pages. I don't think Oxygen has biographies listed for the "Bad Girls"? —Mike Allen 02:02, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Here's how the table had looked (I removed the WP:POV problems). I'm skeptical about Angie's comment about her life in the Bronx. I'm wondering if that is WP:NPOV? - and Nastasia's comment on her sister (just added). AJona1992 (talk) 03:32, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bad Girl Age1 Hometown "Bad Girl" nickname Biography
Angelic Castillo 21 Bronx, New York "The Bronx Bombshell"[1] Angelic, often known as "Angie", is a cashier and a go-go dancer. Angie, who was offended of the nick name "Baby", revealed of witnessing tough situations, that the other cast members haven't been through, while living in the Bronx.[2]
Judi Jai 21 Olympia Fields, Illinois "The Voodoo Vixen"[3] Judi, who self-identifies of being Creole, was originally from Louisiana.
Nastasia Townsend 23 Sacramento, California "The Powerhouse"[4] Before entering the house, Nastasia was a "shy little girl" who had dreamed of owning a strip club.[5] In Episode 4, Nastasia told her roommates that she has a sister who is in prison. Nastasia believes this is the reason why she can tolerate Judi - in fear of Judi being in prison - Nastasia feels that she should help Judi make right decisions.[6]
Priscilla Mennella 25 Staten Island, New York "The Staten Island Spitfire"[7]
Shelly Hickman 23 St. Louis, Missouri "The Lady Killer"[8] Shelly works as a bartender in a gay night club.[2]
Tasha Malek 23 Miami, Florida "The Posh Princess"[9]
Tiara Hodge 22 Houston, Texas "The Goofy Gangsta"[10] Tiara, often known as "Tracy", self-identifies as having a three split personality.[2] After the season was done filming, Tiara lunched her Signature Lipstick Collection called "Boojie by Tiara" which is projected to be sold in stores in the fall of 2011, with Yagolicious Cosmetics distributing the product.[11][12]
First, I think it's unnecessary because none of the previous seasons have it. Second, if readers want to read the bio they can go to the Oxygen website. Third, the bio's are equal, like some girls have more information. They have to have equal amounts of information and Priscilla didn't even have a biography. Fourth, It's just not the tradition for Wikipedia to put biographies for Bad Girls Club seasons. I just don't agree. Sorry. Junebea1 (talk) 11:19, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
I only had time to do one season at a time. Note there are six other seasons, I don't have time going through each episode for the cast bios. Secondly, the reason why Priscilla didn't have anything was because there weren't anything to add to her. Hence, this was up from episode 1, so of course details would soon be added for her but not at that instant like other participants. Um, there's no rule or guidelines that pertain to the Bad Girls Club, however there are rules regarding reality shows. If you can provide a rule that states on a Wikipedia rule that A biography for the Bad Girls Club show is prohibited on Wikipedia... then I'll gladly agree and stick with the way the WP:MOS is. @Mike, the girls bios are on Oxygen's site, however, they tell more about why they are "bad girls" instead of their extended bios like the Real World. Declining for now. While I agree that there doesn't seem to be a clear-cut reason for full protection, the first recourse is to ask the admin who protected it. It's not good for admins to undo each other without discussion. I've left a comment with user:AlexiusHoratius to this discussion so that he can consider an unprotect: if that isn't answered in a reasonable period of time let me know and I'll go ahead and remove protection. Duration of the Cast

edit

Stop putting Priscilla and Cheyenne at the end of the table it makes no sense. It MUST be alphabetical. Stop changing it and defacing it. Thank you--Junebea1 (talk) 21:10, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't work with that section, however, is there even a rule that states that? If not, probably a consensus must be brought forth. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 21:18, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The reason it was that way was because all the previous seasons did it that way. At the bottom came the girls that got removed or left the house voluntarily in the order of the episode they left in. Then comes the replacments in the order they appeared. Then the originals that made it in alphabetical order at the top. The chart looks a lot better that way; that's also how all the previous seasons did it. That's why it was the other way.(Usertalk:Awesome444a444) 17:04, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I actually liked the format of having the non-current cast at the bottom. But like I said, I'm not bothering with it. Just do not start an WP:3RR edit war here again. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:29, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notes

edit

Regarding the notes, the "removed from the house", "replacement comes into the house" and "bad girls appears on this episode" icons have to appear under the duration of the cast because those three instances have already occurred, but the "bad girl voluntarily leaves the house" icon will be hidden because that instance hasn't happened yet, or it may never happen. Junebea1 (talk) 19:13, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Those have been discussed already, no need to create needless sections of the same thing over and over again. Per your edit summary, season's 6-1 are ruined by IPs and are all vandalism, they don't follow the ethos of the current WP:MoS, plus I don't have time to cleanup their mess over and over again. Please consider undoing your edit or it would be seen as WP:3RR and an admin could/would ban you from this. Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 19:17, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

New changes that were made

edit

On 31 October 2011 Junebea1 (talk · contribs) had WP:MOVEd the title of this article from "The Bad Girls Club (season 7)" to "Bad Girls Club: New Orleans (season 7)" without a consensus from the community. Furthermore, the move is from a fan's point-of-view since there is not even one WP:RS that indicates the season was named "Bad Girls Club: New Orleans (season 7)" and it violates WP:TITLE. However, there are a few (minus the gossip and unreliable ones) that indicates the show as "Bad Girls Club: New Orleans" [1] and [2]. I wouldn't consider the second source a WP:RS since it is a WP:BLOG however, it is more of an accurate one similar to Perez Hilton sources found. Aside from the source violations, the title is confusing to the uninformed readers who never heard/watched the show before. Why is the title named "Bad Girls Club: New Orleans (season 7)" for? Is there a season 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1 of "Bad Girls Club: New Orleans"? An uninformed reader wouldn't understand that and would be confused to see a "Bad Girls Club: Miami", is a show or a season? Also User:Junebea1 continues to reveal the hidden notes at the "notes" section below the "Duration of Cast" section. The previous discussion from the community agreed that those codes should be in fact hidden from the main article body for points revealed in the discussion. However, I'm now more towards on having them appear however, User:Junebea1 edits without a consensus and shows WP:OWN issues with Bad Girls Club related articles. Also cast-member Cheyenne Evans was not "removed" from the house nor did she "voluntarily left" the show. Since the rules state that a cast-member is removed by production team, maybe we need to talk about having an "exemption" for Evans? Or have a note describing the discrepancies of her departure from the show. Lastly, I'm going to restore the article back to the last time it was stable by User:Jeff G. [3]. Further changes should be based on how the community wants them to be, as well as abiding the rules and guidelines for season articles. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 19:22, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think only the first season was called The Bad Girls Club. Now it's kind of apparent the show has dropped the "The" in the title. The article title should retain (season 7) without "New Orleans". It's very sloppy and inconsistent with the other articles. The name of the season is Bad Girls Club: New Orleans and it should be called that in the article itself. Off the record about Cheyenne being "pushed out" by Tiara, people need to realize this is a reality television show. Cheyenne has hinted on her Twitter that it was the producers instructing Tiara to "trick" her. This is consistent with last season when Jennifer was "pushed out" out of the house by a roommate, when in fact it was orchestrated by Bunim/Murray Productions. We can't add any of this inside the article, of course. But we do have to add what is presented to us on the show, and that is that "Taira tricked Cheyenne into leaving". As corny, fake and stupid as it is, that's what "happened" and that's what we have to write. —Mike Allen 23:25, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I realized some of the changes I have made were incorrect. Including the change of the article's name, which I realize now. There is no "the" in the title of the Bad Girls Club though, so that will remain left out. As for Cheyenne, she was definitely kicked out of the house, so we're going to add a new color for that and I'm currently experimenting to the find the best color that works. Cheyenne never voluntarily left, Jennifer from season 6 clearly left voluntarily after being bullied by Nikki and Wilmarie. Junebea1 (talk) 19:15, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm glad that you now understand what me and User:MikeAllen have been trying to tell you. However, the way you presented in your reply was WP:OWN, such as "There is no "the" in the title of the Bad Girls Club though, so that will remain left out" and "I'm currently experimenting to the find the best color that works" why are there so many "I"'s ? This is a community where we come together and decide what's best, not just one person who edits, add or remove content that is subject to controversial issues. Also, undoing my revert on your vandalism was not a great thing to do and can led to another block by an admin. Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 19:25, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, nobody else is going to step up to do the simplest tasks, so I'm taking responsibility. Also, I used the we're in one of my sentences as in we are, so I notice that is a community. There is only a couple of editors for the Bad Girls Club articles and most of them are making disruptive edits and adding false information. Thanks--Junebea1 (talk) 19:37, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's a lie; myself, Mike and User:Alexgx have all contributed to this and all Bad Girls Club-related articles, not just you. I believe you are referring to the numerous IPs who vandalize the article(s) received on a daily basis, that's not WP:AUTOCONFIRMED editors. Secondly, its best to ask the community on the talk page before doing anything that may cause a conflict so we can get consensus, and if needed WP:RfC. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 20:05, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
What I mean't to say was "nobody else is going to step up to do the simplest tasks and make them make sense." And most of the time nobody reads the discussions, so I'm not going to waste my time. Thanks--Junebea1 (talk) 20:05, 9 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's another lie, I have every single Bad Girls Club-related article on my watchlist, if someone had left a message on any talk page, I'll respond. In this case, users and IPs tend to change content, that are of conflict, instead of bringing the issue(s) on the talk page where consensus can be brought. The text your provided, "nobody else is going to step up to do the simplest tasks and make them make sense" is not true. The issues you see are not being brought up on the talk page or of anyone else' attention, therefore, they are not "fixed". Also, what issues are you referring to as "simple"? Jonayo! Episode Descriptions

edit

I think we should just have the synopsis' instead of a whole boring summary of the episode. I don't think people want to read what happens, they just want to be teased. Secondly, we should follow the previous articles' because most of their episode descriptions are just the synopsis'. I'm just bringing this to everybody's attention and consideration because I was told to discuss any major changes here on the talk page. If nobody replies in a week, I'll just go ahead and remove the summaries and add the synopsis'. It's simple and it makes the article look neat and polished. Most of the summaries are grammatically incorrect by the way, so if we decide to keep the summaries then they need to be revised to make them grammatically correct. If nobody corrects them, then we'll just add the synopsis' like I stated before. Thanks--Junebea1 (talk) 21:06, 13 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean by "the synopsis". We can't copy and paste the official [copyrighted] synopsis into the the article (see WP:Copy-paste. It must be written in our own words. —Mike Allen 22:55, 13 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Per WP:SUMMARY the episodes should summarize the entire episode (having the most important information) without violating WP:FAN, WP:NPOV and WP:UNDUE. Secondly, WP:OTHERSTUFF is not a valid argument, not everyone will update or expand previous seasons of Bad Girls Club, if you have a problem with the way those articles are, why not expand them? Thirdly, if the episode summaries have prose and grammar errors, a simple WP:GOCE/REQ would help that. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 01:35, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
If we have the summaries at all, then each episode such have a summary, not only the episodes that people want to have summaries for. Therefore, the creator(s) of the summaries such maintain consistency because it has to maintain consistency in accordance to Wikipedia. Secondly, I never said "copy," please read what I wrote before you respond hastily. Ask me to specify, don't just assume I mean't we copy the synopsis'. Thanks--Junebea1 (talk) 21:23, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well not everyone has time to maintain an article that clearly has no chance for any higher recognition (with its current status), though I do agree with you, slightly. If you would like to expand, or in this case, write the summaries then go ahead, no one is stopping you. Just remember the core rules that myself and MikeAllen had provided while replying to your question. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 21:30, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
