Currency edit

Before the euro, what currency was used here? Dutch gulden or Belgian franc? --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 07:48, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I guess, according to the law, a company must declare their economy in the currency according to the country they are registred in. Their employees are also officially employed in that country but can cross the border in their work. So according to the law, belgian areas had franc, and dutch areas had gulden. But shops accepted both with a fair exchange rate. That is my educated guess. --BIL (talk) 08:01, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Border control edit

Were there border controls along the complicated borders, before 1948 when the border control between Netherlands and Belgium were lifted? My guess is no, like for Büsingen am Hochrhein. Someone who knows? --BIL (talk) 08:42, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Needs map edit

This article needs a map to show where the Belgian exclaves and the Dutch exclaves within those Belgian exclaves are. howcheng {chat} 23:07, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Map scale? edit

Could a scale be added to the map? How big are these chunks of land? --Billpg (talk) 15:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Same map? edit

This article has the same map as Baarle-Hertog, so what's the difference between the two? S!lver NL (talk) 14:08, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

As the legend shows, the strong yellow is Belgium (BH) and the rest is Netherlands (BN). —Tamfang (talk) 17:47, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

land uses edit

Generally speaking, predominantly agricultural or built environments became constituents of Brabant, other parts devolved to Breda.

What's neither agricultural nor built? Pasture? Woods? —Tamfang (talk) 19:29, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

How...? edit

It would nice to include some history to explain how and when this bizarre situation arose... 129.173.55.207 (talk) 17:32, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

would it not be a little bit easier to combine this article with the bordering Barle-Hertog? edit

Considering the... proximity, would it not make sense to combine the two articles and the fact there is not a paragraph on the older history on it. GarethBaloney (talk) 21:52, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

They’re in different countries. All of the infobox information is different. Jeff in CA (talk) 08:28, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but why not also make an article on "The history of Baarle-Hertog/Barle-Nassau" on a combined page? GarethBaloney (talk) 20:30, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I agree that there seems to be a need for an article covering the history of the enclaves, including how they came to be and Dutch-Belgian agreements. Jeff in CA (talk) 08:11, 23 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
