Some proposed changes edit

BDR Thermea Group

BDR Thermea Group makes and distributes domestic and commercial water and space heating systems for building owners and users. Its brands include Baxi, De Dietrich, Remeha, Brötje, Chappée and Baymak.

BDR Thermea Group operates in more than 100 countries worldwide, and is active in all European markets, Turkey, Russia and China.[1] Its products are manufactured in 11 different locations in eight countries.[2]

Currently employing 6,100 people worldwide, the BDR Thermea Group had a turnover of around 1.8 billion EUR in 2020 [3] making it one of the largest manufacturers of heating appliances in Europe[4]. The Group is a global company with trade brands that vary per market. Its focus is on the needs of installers and end-users, which differ by market sector and country.[5]

History

BDR Thermea Group was formed from the mergers of several companies. In 2004, Remeha merged with De Dietrich Thermique, which included the Chappée brand. In 2009, De Dietrich Remeha Group and the Baxi Group, which included the German brand Brötje, merged to become BDR Thermea Group[6].

BDR Thermea Group acquired Baymak in Turkey in 2013[7]. In 2015, BDR Thermea Group acquired its North American subsidiary, ECR International[8]. In 2021, it divested from ECR[9]. In 2021, it acquired Hitecsa in Spain[10].   Done up to this point with edits and tags for missing citations.

Hello, @TracyMelass: I did not include reference 4 for outdated company data in the lead. I added additional secondary sources ([1],[2], [3], [4], [5]), but I was unable to find BDR Thermea's 2020 annual report on my own. Please provide a link to the 2020 annual report so I can include it on the page. Also, please provide the source for the statement: "Its products are manufactured in 11 different locations in eight countries." Thanks, Heartmusic678 (talk) 15:33, 19 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Product portfolio

BDR Thermea Group’s product portfolio includes products, systems and services for both residential and commercial application, such as high-efficiency boilers, heat pumps and hybrid heat pumps, fuel cells and other combined heat and power (CHP) systems, connected thermostats, solar thermal panels and domestic hot-water tanks.

BDR Thermea Group’s brands offer maintenance and repair services to end users in some markets and provide installers with training services as well as connected services, such as remote monitoring.   Not done. Please provide sources.

Hydrogen boilers

BDR Thermea Group has been developing hydrogen boilers for use in heating technology as a way to help decarbonise heating. In 2019, the company was the first to apply a high-efficiency 100%-hydrogen boiler in a real-life setting in Rozenburg, the Netherlands, together with gas grid provider Stedin, and others[11].

In the UK, BDR Thermea Group is participating in the UK Hy4Heat programme, which aims to establish how to replace natural gas (methane) with hydrogen in residential and commercial buildings and gas appliances [12][13]. The company also participates in hydrogen studies and demonstrations in France [14] and Germany[15].

In 2020, BDR Thermea Group joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance[16].The Alliance aims to develop a clean and globally competitive hydrogen industry in Europe and is part of the European Commission’s ‘Green Deal’[17].   Done with edits. I added the names of the other members of the pilot project and separated the content into two sections: Hydrogen boilers and Initiatives. I reworded the Hy4Heat sentence and the final sentence about the Alliance because they were taken verbatim from the sources. Heartmusic678 (talk) 16:50, 19 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
