Scope/move
editThere is no indication that the subject of this article (a water source in Aughatubbrid) has independent notability. Per WP:WITHIN ("There are many items of interest that do exist [..] But only a brief amount of information can be written about them [..] It is preferable to have such information simply added to the article where it best fits
") and WP:NGEO ("It is advised to include identifiable minor geographic features within articles for larger features
"), I propose to expand the scope of this article to cover Aughatubbrid townland as a whole (location, population, other built heritage, etc), and retitle/move the article to reflect that updated scope. Leaving a redirect behind. (See, for example, similar changes to what was an article on a random bridge in Cork - to cover the river on which it stood.) Thoughts welcome. - Hi. Unless there are other thoughts or objections, I will likely go ahead with the above changes* in the coming days. (* Specifically, I propose to update the article text to cover the townland of Aughatubbrid as a whole. Not just this small (and seemingly non-notable) geo feature within the townland. And I propose to move/retitle the article to reflect that updated scope. IE: To move it to Aughatubbrid. Leaving behind a redirect.) Guliolopez (talk) 15:20, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- OK. Not having heard any other thoughts, I expanded the article scope (to include the entire townland) and retitled/moved the article (to that of the townland). The redirect is retained (with "holy wells" category). Guliolopez (talk) 19:21, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
