Conserving the following from article space before beginning a ruthless edit:

Actually nothing proves it's a Spanish manuscript as the article used to say it. It may come from North Africa or Syria. This is infact more probable cause it sometimes represents exotic animals and lands and black people. Furthermore colors and composition are more specific of the Arabian. Art historians can't agree upon this point of the manuscript.

It first was consrvated at the National Library of Tours before being stolen in 1842 and sold to the Duke of Ashburinham in 1847. It's now at the National Library of France in Paris since 1888.

The manuscript is composed by the five first books of the Old Testament that is to say the Genesis, the Exodus, the Book of Numbers, the Leviticus and the Deuteronomy.

It counts 142 folio (pages), 19 paintings and measures 372mm by 321mm. That makes him one of the biggest manuscript of its time and one of the most extroardinary.
