Elvis
editIt says, "American singer Elvis Presley achieved 17 number one songs on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart between 1956 and 1969 prior to his death in August 1977". This is factually wrong since the Hot 100 debuted in August 1958. Either this needs to be corrected or the name of the article needs to be changed. I would recommend a change anyway to something more in line with the dance list. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 14:48, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- I was gunna change the name of the article anyway, but couldn't while it was an AfD... — ₳aron 17:06, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
Bias toward recent artists
editAs with too many Wikipedia articles on popular music, the bias toward more verbiage for recent hitmakers and less for those more removed in time is in full evidence here. A sentence each on the Beatles, Elvis, the Supremes, and Stevie Wonder, but paragraphs on Michael Jackson, Madonna, Whitney Houston, with the most amount of info on Mariah Carey and Rihanna. This will look strange in the future, as the seemingly prominent of today become the trivia questions of tomorrow. PJtP (talk) 21:19, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- Because it's clearly not completed yet.... — Calvin999 08:21, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Systematic removal of Elvis Presley
editDespite the long standing version, Akhiljaxxn is removing Elvis Presley by providing baseless reasons, he has been already reverted by me and Johndunwory for that. I would ask him to get consensus here first. Also the summaries about Stevie Wonder are irrelevant for this article. Excelse (talk) 05:30, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
- It says American singer and global icon Elvis Presley achieved 17 number-one songs on Billboard Hot 100 charts between 1956 and 1969 prior to his death in August 1977. This is factually wrong since the Hot 100 created in August 1958. He achieved 11 number one out of 17 singles before the Billboard Hot 100 was created in August of 1959.Either this needs to be corrected or the name of the article needs to be changed.Akhiljaxxn (talk) 05:40, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

- Its seems you have no idea about the difference between most number on hits in usa and most number one hit on billboard hot 100 chart?. Elvis Presley achieved 17 number one songs on the U.S (asper the new rules of billboard in 2008).And the 17 is the total of two different chart ;Billboard Best Sellers In Stores chart and billboard hot 100 chart. Elvis achieved 10 number one singles between 1956 and 1958 before the inception of the Billboard Hot 100. After the inception of the billboard hot 100 chart he achieved 7 more number one singles.[1] Akhiljaxxn (talk) 10:56, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- You are depending on your personal opinion. Read [2] there are 18 No. 1 hits of Elvis. Unless you are going to provide source for your opinion just stick to existing reliable sources and previous version. Excelse (talk) 05:47, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- [3] this article talkin about the total number one songs of elvis in bilboard chart not in billboard hot 100.He only have 7 number one single on billboard hot 100 chart which founded in 1958. here is the source [2].If you want restore ur version u have to rename the title of the article as Artists with the most number-ones on the U.S.. Redirect?
editThe article is very problematic in terms of content, and the list is already found on List of Billboard Hot 100 chart achievements and milestones. I would support a redirect to that page, without merging any of the existing content. Power~enwiki (talk) 06:10, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
- Power~enwiki I have agree with you. You can look at the above discussion, it is that heated for almost no specific reason. The only reason is the problematic confusion of this article. I am also in agreement of redirecting the article to List of Billboard Hot 100 chart achievements and milestones. Merge is not needed. Excelse (talk) 08:26, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- Support redirecting, the whole article is redundant/unnecessary. Neodop (talk) 22:31, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
