Arthur William à Beckett was not merely an editor of Punch, he was the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the state of Victoria, Australia. He presided over the Eureka Stockade trial. He was the father of William Arthur Callendar à Beckett. He was more significant to Australian history than to English, but it includes no information on this.
