Talk:Arrest of Mark Kaminsky and Harvey Bennett

Contested deletion

edit

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because...this was an extremely newsworthy event that happened in 1960. I had just started to create this article when it was immediately put up for deletion. --Imaginelenin (talk) 21:13, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Imaginelenin: What else did Kaminsky do? One arrest isn't enough, per WP:BLP1E. —C.Fred (talk) 21:14, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
There are several articles similar to this on wikipedia. I just started to write this article. I had posted my first edit, and within two minutes you posted it for deletion. Imaginelenin (talk) 21:21, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
thank you very much for removing the speedy deletion. If we cannot find a place for it on its own, it can go into a larger article on american spies in Russia. Imaginelenin (talk) 21:22, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@C.Fred: There are a whole bunch of news sources c. 1960 that talk about the event, so we could have an article for that, but I don't think it should be one about the person. Possibly Mark Kaminsky and Harvey Bennett, Arrest of Mark Kaminsky and Harvey Bennett or something like that. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:23, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Good point. If there's coverage of the event, it could qualify as notable a lot more easily than an article on the person could. —C.Fred (talk) 21:24, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I have moved it to Arrest of Mark Kaminsky and Harvey Bennett, added a source and taken off the "notability|biographies" tag, as that doesn't really make sense now we're talking about the event. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:37, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

You guys are both awesome <3 thank you so much for working tirelessly on wikipedia to make it incredible! Imaginelenin (talk) 21:51, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Northcraft Educational Foundation a spy organization?

edit

A lawyer for the Northcraft Educational Foundation refused to name the "groups backers or give the location of its headquarters". Tass had called it a "spy organization". ref name="cia"/> Imaginelenin (talk) 13:19, 8 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
