Expanded edit

I expanded it with some Argentines issues which were not included. Would be nice to know the destinations of all those trucks! --Jor70 (talk) 12:27, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jor just so you know, "booty" is a term used in Britain exclusively for pirates. I have attempted to make the section header more neutral, but am open to any other ideas. Ryan4314 (talk) 12:49, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
The trucks mainly ended up as range targets. The Mercedes were used for years but I think there is only 1 usable these days. Argentina hadn't paid for them and refused to cough up the dough to Mercedes Argentina. When the British tried to order spares, Mercedes refused to supply them unless the UK settled the Argentine bill. The MoD ended up buying spares direct from a UK dealership bypassing Mercedes altogether. Justin the Evil Scotsman talk 12:55, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
According to the "Red and Green Life Machine" by Rick Jolly, the Argentine Government refused to provide transport back to the mainland for the surrendered garrison which meant the British had to use the Canberra. Justin the Evil Scotsman talk 12:51, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I remember in the Falklands Play (not to be considered reliable), it implied it was a decision of Margaret Thatcher herself, to only allow British transports. Ryan4314 (talk) 13:03, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the c/e Ryan. I didnt know that about the ships, but would not surprise me given the treatment they received back on the continent later --Jor70 (talk) 13:37, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Confiscated Argentine equipment edit

Shouldn't it be called captured Argentine equipment. Creuzbourg (talk) 22:02, 5 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
