Aqua dramas vs. Naumachia edit
Are Aqua dramas all theatre based? How about larger scale performances, such as the recreation of the Battle of the Nile in Hyde park, and other naumachia. See this source Gwinva (talk) 03:54, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Naumachia doesn't appear to have the necessary elements to be considered drama. It seems mostly to be spectacle and pageant. Aqua drama, as I understand it, is much closer to melodrama and includes such things as plot and characters with speaking parts. Gladiatorial combat doesn't quite land witin most definitions of theatre. Breschard (talk) 12:08, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
