Can you please put today's event on the article? Australia celebrates ANZAC Day today.

Alice Day

edit

I arranged the holidays in alphabetical order and added Alice Day.

Somebody removed Alice Day claiming that it was illegitimate. However, it is recognized by a lot of people.

Unless anyone gives a good and valid reason why Alice Day shouldn't be on the page I will readd it. --81.227.83.65 (talk) 16:46, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alice Day is not a mainstream, widely observed international observance. The minimum criterion for an observance to be included in the date articles is that the observance be the subject of its own article (except in the case of religious feasts which need to be mentioned in the subject's bio article). This observance is mentioned in Pro-pedophile_activism but it is not the subject of the article. The reference to Alice Day in the article is not supported by a source that mentions "female-attracted pedophiles" and therefore is only marginally supportive of the observance. Further, it seems to me that you have some sort of agenda regarding this issue since all of your edits have been in reference in some way to pedophilia. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 17:17, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Edward Drummond

edit

Either his appearance in the Death List for 25th April is incorrect, or his Date of Death shown in his wiki bio is incorrect. It appears Mr Drummond died on January 25th 1843, not April 25th... Samilong (talk) 09:24, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

1861 - American Civil War: The Union Army arrives in Washington, D.C.

edit

Subject topic is not an event. The army never left Washington. On this date, some particular Union Army change happened to protect DC from CSA takeover. What was it? If I knew I'd edit as so; am curious. Thx to editors for any update. Marquess (talk) 05:15, 25 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Pope Anianus

edit

Anianus of Alexandria is celebrated on this day by Roman Catholicism, which does not call him Pope. He is celebrated by the Coptic Church, which does call him Pope, on Nov. 29. I suggest the title "Pope" be removed here. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 14:40, 25 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Change "1931 – James Fenton, Northern Irish linguist and poet" to "1949 – James Martin Fenton, English poet, journalist and literary critic." and correct the hyperlink accordingly. (Northern Irish James Fenton's birthday is 5th June; it's the English James Fenton whose birthday is 25th April, according to their respective Wikipedia pages.) 82.39.109.67 (talk) 19:14, 24 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Under Events, the sentence "The western Georgian kingdom of Imereti accepts the suzerainty of the Russian Empire" is missing a period. 98.210.124.96 (talk) 05:24, 25 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Red Hat Day

edit

This is not any official commemoration, not sponsored by a government at any level. A social movement. I recommend it be deleted. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 14:39, 25 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
