On June 2016, it was proposed that this article be moved from Appropriation (education) to Appropriation of knowledge. The result of the discussion was moved.

Both articles refer to "appropriation of knowledge", though one author may be more from a "history of knowledge" background while the others have a stronger educational theory background. Nevertheless, these are not completely different meanings of "appropriation". The more art-related aspects are best covered by Appropriation (art). Also see how the corresponding article in the German Wikipedia covers a completely different aspect of appropriation, which we refer to as Original appropriation here. Support merge; I agree that the article express similar, although not identical, meaning of the term appropriation, both in the field of sociology. The differences in meaning are worth exploring on a common page, so I support the merge. Klbrain (talk) 13:14, 2 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oppose: I've changed my view. The two pages are looking at distinct forms of appopriation. One in the context of education and training, one is the context of sociology, but so obtusely written that the analogy and metaphor is hard to extract from the intended meaning. Appropriation (education) → Appropriation of knowledge – Apart from education, Appropriation of knowledge is closely related to history of knowledge, sociology of knowledge and developmental psychology. It is even a subject of legal studies. The disambiguator therefore does more harm than it helps. Instead I'm proposing Appropriation of knowledge per WP:NATURALDIS, which is specific in regard to the subject of studies rather than one or the other academic field studying the subject. -- PanchoS (talk) 15:48, 29 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
