Origin of Lu Ann? edit

I seem to recall that there was a different blonde roommate originally, but that she was written out of the strip in the mid-sixties, and was replaced by Lu Ann? Does anyone else remember this, or am I crazy? Jimtrue 18:24, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've answered my own question. Lu Ann was indeed on original roommate. She was the one I remember leaving the strip to get married, to be replaced temporarily by another blonde named Beth. Lu Ann then returned after her husband was killed in Viet Nam. Jimtrue 18:32, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Margo's hairstyle edit

I seem to notice that Margo's hairstyle has changed a bit. She may have been based on Joan Collins, but she looks more like k d lang with an upscale wardrobe nowadays. Maybe the article should note that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by RebelKnightCSA (talkcontribs) 21:20, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

End of the road edit

As stated here [1], industry rumors are that A3G is going to be cancelled. Choor monster (talk) 15:38, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

As a reminder, per WP:CRYSTAL we can't include industry rumors as part of the article. But be alert for more specific, clearly and believably attributed, confirmations. Choor monster (talk) 12:08, 22 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
The strip is confirmed as coming to an end. http://joshreads.com/?p=26015 208.107.175.135 (talk) 18:31, 24 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
That's a blog. Excellent blog, the source of the above link I provided, and for years now the source of 90% of my information about upcoming comics related news, but not an RS. Choor monster (talk) 15:17, 28 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Joe McQuaid, publisher of the New Hampshire Union Leader, made a brief mention of it in his column on October 18, 2015 ("I have since heard from my industry sources that 3-G is going to be discontinued by the comic syndicate later this year."). Other than that, I can't find any official media coverage of the cancellation.

In the online comments section for the strip on November 4, 2015, someone using the handle "Cephasatl" reported the s/he received an email from King Features stating that the last new strip will be published on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Granted that's not a reliable source, but it's the best I can seem to find. It's just very, very odd that there's no official announcement of the strip's cancellation.

Maybe we could add something to the article like this?

Rumors began circulating in October of 2015 that the strip is going to be cancelled later that year, but no official confirmation has been made by King Features.

Unfortunately, we can't do that either, without an RS! Only 18 days to go anyway. Maybe Margo will show up in the current Mary Worth/The Phantom crossover storyline. Or something. Choor monster (talk) 15:47, 4 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
don't have time to edit this at the moment but just gonna leave this here: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/09/business/media/classic-comic-strips-will-return-to-newspapers-in-special-insert.html?smid=fb-share --Jfruh (talk) 04:06, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks! The End has now been added. As to whether the correct last day is 21 (NYT) or 22 (Fb), we can presumably fix that when it becomes a past tense question. Choor monster (talk) 12:49, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
