Transports section should be splitted edit

There are endpoint transports and layered transports which are not to be confused. Mixing them is a typical beginners mistake, probably due to the terminology used.

Endpoint transports are connected to the underlying medium, such as TFileTransport, TMemoryTransport, TSocket.

Layered transports are additionally transport layers which are optionally added to the stack to achieve some specific effect. They are not bound to a specific medium. Examples are TFramedTransport, TZlibTransport, TBufferedTransport, TMultiplexTransport. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.246.178.28 (talk) 14:20, 30 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Opening heading edit

This page sound like marketing speak.

I agree; a Disadvantages section should be added to remove the biased point of view. Also, a few sentences are fragments and should be rewritten. Lastly, the phrase "A non-viral free software license..." has very poor word choice by making other (possibly open source) licenses sound decidedly negative. subxero (talk) 23:04, 17 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Should the link to Caml actually point to CAML instead? The former is a programming language, the latter is a markup language; I'm not sure which is being referred to in the phrase "Extendable through Caml web services". 204.13.163.36 (talk) 00:32, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The phrase "Extendable through Caml web services" looks like complete nonsense and should be either removed or explicited. Kmkaplan (talk) 11:00, 8 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Linking to Facebook edit

Per WP:External links, links to social networking pages should be avoided. An exception to this is to allow official web sites maintained by the subject of the page, and giving further information about the subject. If the link to Facebook in this article is the developers' official page, it can remain; otherwise, it should be removed. Cnilep (talk) 16:55, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thrift (protocol)Apache Thrift — Originally nominated by 109.83.2.197 at 13:17, 31 March 2010 without a rationale. I suspect the reasoning behind the move was it now being maintained by the ASF. Consider this a relist. 81.111.114.131 (talk) 14:22, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
