Geography Bee
Googling Anthony Kiedis geography bee only brings up this page and a twitter account of a man who tweeter that he was going to change the article to reflect that anthony kiedis had been in geography bees despite it not being true.. Accordingly I've removed the offending clause —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.28.76.200 (talk) 03:15, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
I think we need a decent picture?
Does anyone have one??? MrDark 14:58, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
i agree-this one is real outdated.-S
Anthony could not have spent much of his youth listening to Grandmaster Flash since GMF's first single ("Superappin'") did not come out until the very end of 1979, when Kiedis was 17. Kiedis likely did not listen to much Flash until 1981 or 1982 (when "The Message" was released). At that time, he was 18 or 19 years old. He likely did not see GMF in concert until 1983, when he was 20.
Kiedis did note in a 2002 interview that an early 1980's Flash concert inspired him.

Early Life
Why is there no section on his early life? Scar Tissue certainly provides alot of information...Sunshine 00:53, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
his height
and people get over it he's 5foot8 and a half!!
On MTV they say, that Anthony Kiedis is greek. Not true? His name sounds greek too.
nah his surname comes from lithuania
Any reason for the trivia section to be a part of this article? I'm not saying that it's useless, but I don't understand what it's place is in an encyclopedical article. Can someone enlighten me? EliF 22:24, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
"Soulful and funky lyrics"? I'm sure that's true, but what does it mean?
h,h,m,hmmhgjjh
I am not sure about Anthony's father, Blackie. Is his surname spelt Dammet or Dammett? I do not have my copy of his biography at hand so I am not sure. I have searched the internet and various sourchjhfjshes have different results. Davehard 22:40, Oct 03, 2005 (UTC)
He lost his virginity at age 12 with an 18-year-old redhead named Kimberly Smith, who at the time was the girlfriend of his father.
Classy.
A selection of lyrics quotes does not belong here, it belongs on wikiquote - and further there is no indication that these lyrics were even penned by Kiedis himself, just that he sung them. I am removing them. Also it is standard to refer to the subject by last name, not first.
Surely he wrote all the lyrics. Thats what he does (he's a great singer). He wrote a song about Sinead O'Conner. Hope he keeps off the smack. kkll;;;;;;;;;; anymore? and if that is true, remember at the end of scar tissue he said his dog was a big part of him staying clean....
- I agree. I remember reading that and I don't think the dog has died or anything. Davehard 15:16, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
- Since one does it naturally follow that a singer writes all his own lyrics?? I'm sure Kiedis probably writes the MAJORITY of the lyrics, but "that's what he does (he's a great singer)" is not really the ultimate word of authority on whether he writes ALL of them. A lot of people think Roger Daltry of the Who is a great singer and he wrote almost no lyrics for the Who.Cris Varengo 01:09, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
His Dog DIED. Buster.
Buster died during the recording of Death of a Martian, which was written about Flea's dog, martian, who died during the recording of their album stadium arcadium.
Role in RHCP
I agree with the comment below, and I would add that: Kiedis can sing because singing is simply vibrating the vocal cords to make sounds, and alternating pitch and breathing accordingly. Saying that he can't sing is arguing that he's not a good singer, which is entirely subjective (and thus has no place in the article).
I was also concerned with the fact that Chad Smith isn't cited as writing the music, when he's clearly a driving force in the creation of music in the band, and he's cited in the music sheets as well. He ought to be mentioned.
"While one cannot simply "learn" to sing, Kiedis has learned to control his vocals more and more with each album." Whoever said this is obviously not a vocalist. As someone who has had no natural singing ability and now fronts a band, I can say that this is very debatable. A person can learn to recognize the different pitches, breathing and other techniques which all means that anyone can, in essence, learn how to sing no matter what their natural voice is like. Learning to control your vocals is in fact the same as learning to sing and in effect, this is a contradiction. Agree/Disagree? Just type "learn to sing" in google. The first result gave me the following site: http://www.vocalrelease.com/ which states: "Great singers aren't specially gifted from birth. They have not been born physically different than anyone else. If you learn the right techniques you could be well on your way to singing just as well, if not better, than your favorite singers today."
- I disagree with the claims by the website, however, I agree that Kiedis has developed into a better singer through his career. I would also like to add that, in my opinion, the "system" that the Red Hot Chili Peppers have going definately suits his voice and talents. Sunshine 17:28, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- The whole section needs a re-write; it's all based on opinion, not verifiable fact, and doesn't cite any sources. And anyway, it's not accurate in that it implies Kiedis never sang in a melodic fashion before "Knock Me Down"; "Behind the Sun" and "If You Want Me to Stay" are both sung melodically rather than rapped and both songs pre-date "Knock Me Down"by at least two years. Cris Varengo 01:05, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Being a vocalist myself you cannot learn to sing. You are able to learn to control your voice. Just because a website tells you you can be better than your favorite singers doesn't mean you can be. Unless your favorite singer is Kurt Cobain (still love you Kurt)... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.229.235.224 (talk) 04:48, 17 February 2007 (UTC).
- I am sorry if I dnt see the difference between "singing better" and learning to "control your voice", because as far as I am concerned, singing is the sound you make preferably in key with music and if you can learn to control your pitch better, you are singing better. But maybe I'm not clued up on the exact "terminology".
would you also believe a website that promotes giving you a bigger penis?
Just sayin'

Native American?
In the article Mahican, it states that Kiedis is a member of that tribe, and this article puts him in a "native american musicians" category, but there is no source given for any of this, and it's not mentioned in the text of the article. Would anyone care to explain? john k 05:43, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- People are idiots, that is the only explanation for this oversight. He is not a member of any Native American tribes. His ancestral roots include some stems of Mohican lineage, I believe he states in Scar Tissue the book.
- You're right. I've gone ahead deleted him from that page as I agree that he should not be included in this category along with the likes of Bill Miller, seeing that he isn't exactly affiliated with the tribe. Of course there are many fullblood Native people who aren't enrolled due to various tribal blood quantum rules and governmental bueracracy, but Kiedis isn't a self-identifying Mohican; he just states that he was told his grandmother had Mohican blood. Antwan or Antoine
The article states that he is also known as 'Antwan the Swan', but I think this is not correctly spelled. The lyrics of "Out in L.A" from their self-titled cd state (Quote from the cover/lyrics booklet) "Antoine the swan was a bad motherjumper you could tell he was strong". Black Hole 15:57, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
This is correct. he makes mention of "Antoine the Swan" in Scar Tissue as well. Dosed1.0 22:06, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Methamphetamines?
I've always heard heroin and cocaine in his drug problems, but never methamphetamines. What source is that from? If its from Scar Tissue then ok but Ive never heard him say that in an interview. Cdylan13 16:42, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Anthony did use methamphetamine, which he simply referred to as "speed" in Scar Tissue, but it was never his drug of choice and he used in very infrequently. It was sort of his last resort for whenever he couldn't get a hold of heroin or cocaine and was desperate for something to slam. Addicts who are accustomed to IV'ing will often settle for less favorable drugs to inject if they can't find their fix just so they can feel the rush that injecting brings on. He never smoked meth, although he did smoke crack on a trip to michigan in an effort to wean himself off IV cocaine use.Dosed1.0 22:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Hair
Anthony's hair has always been striking and has changed radically over the years. Perhaps something about that could be worth mentioning?
it was long for like 20 years, then short and blond, then longish again... whats radical about that? Hardly worth mentioning. --LeakeyJee 10:55, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Don't forget about the mohawk, whenever that was.
at one of the big day outs i think, the whole band apart from Chad had mohawks, and he had a reverse mohawk. --LeakeyJee 10:54, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
His hair has gone long again after a good while now (Although obviously not as long as it used to be) but how come it looks so different now compared to about ten years ago (in both style and colour tone)? What has Anthony done (or not done) for it to look different this time round?
- hes probabaly dyed it loads to cover the greys (in one pic i can see grey stubble anyway but i mean he's how old !) he also probanly didnt use as much product in the 90's whereas today (more than ever) its perfectly normal for aguy to do "girlie" stuff to his hair

adding Anthony Kiedis to list of Bisexual musicians
"Around this time he revealed that he considered himself to be bisexual and that he was having a non-romantic sexual relationship with band mate Anthony Kiedis; the two were often to be seen kissing or fondling one another in public and in fact had a high-sexual kiss in the video "Warped"."
http://www.onlineseats.com/dave-navarro-tickets/index.asp
Anthony has said in his book Scar Tissue, that the kiss was an impulsive thing from Dave Navarro, and that it wasn't about being sexual. That above quote is utter crap. Additionally, on the RHCP DVD 'Greatest Videos' (section 'Roadwork'), Anthony states that he is not bisexual, upon hearing that some male fans (who I believe were from Japan) wanted him. I'm adding this here just in case anyone deems it appropriate to claim Anthony is bisexual. Thanks. Sky83 (talk) 12:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)sky83

The name that RHCP used to go by is listed here on the website as "Tony Flow and the Miraculous Masters of Mayhem" I can't find the youtube.com video to back this up, but I would've sworn that Anthony said they were called: "Tony Flow and the miraculously majestic masters of mayhem" I may be wrong because it was a long time ago when I saw the interview, but I'm not often wrong when it comes to music trivia. His Many Girlfriends
hes hot I think that the sentence mentioning some of his past girlfriends should be removed. It only mentions a few, and he's certainly dated LOTS of girls. Also, he currently HAS A CHILD with Heather Christie, so the past girlfriends aren't quite relevant right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.37.30.8 (talk) 00:55, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Age he moved to California to live with his father?
I reverted a change a few moments ago, but I've changed it back, because I think there is some confusion. Anthony moved to California twice, once when he was under 10, then moved back to Michigan when his mother gave birth to his sister. He later returned to California and completed schooling there. This information is available in the Scar Tissue book so anyone who has the time and will could look it up and source it if they like, but I believe this is where the confusion over his moving age has come from. Perhaps at some point, someone could add a small sentence or two on this just to remove any question over the age thing. Sky83 (talk) 16:38, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Girlfriends
Why was the part stating "He is currently dating 19 year old model Heather "Nika" Christie." removed? Is this fact no longer true?
^ I could be wrong, but I don't think so....the statement "=he broke up with her because she didnt want to have his kids." applies to his previous girlfriend Yohanna Logan, not Heather Christie. If I am wrong, and it applies to Heather as well, please state your source.
- Didn't he break up with Yohanna ("Claire Essex" in Scar Tissue) because it just didn't work out, and they kept fighting etc after they tried doing drugs togethe

Trivia
- Kiedis is 5 ft 8.5 in. [celebheights.com]
- He has ten tattoos.
- He met the Dalai Lama during a trip in India at the end of 1996.
- While actually only part Native American, Kiedis has exhibited strong interest in that heritage, showcasing it in the tribal tattoo on his upper back, and he has used it as lyrical inspiration in songs such as "True Men Don't Kill Coyotes", "American Ghost Dance", "Apache Rose Peacock", "Fight Like a Brave" and "Johnny, Kick a Hole in the Sky".
- The song "Fight Like A Brave" was written on an airplane. Anthony had gone back to his hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan to recover from his drug addiction after being fired from the band. He managed to kick the habit and wrote the song on the return flight. On his arrival he was asked to re-join the band and despite the fact that he started using again within weeks, the song was recorded.
- Since the death of his dog Buster, Kiedis has acquired a pair of Rhodesian Ridgebacks, named Katie and Sammi. Buster's name was given as a tribute to legendary silent film comedian, Buster Keaton.
- He contracted a dangerous tropical disease, Dengue fever, while hiking in the Borneo rainforest at the end of 1992.
- He appeared in the video for Johnny Cash's "God's Gonna Cut You Down".
- Kiedis apparently has a bad relationship with Mike Patton as well as his now defunct band Mr. Bungle. He is (according to Patton) responsible for kicking the band out of many summer festivals in New Zealand, Australia, and Europe, as well as others in 2000.
- Kiedis strongly dislikes "The Greeting Song" and its lyrics.
- Kiedis once was diagnosed with Hep C, which he mentions in his memoir Scar Tissue
- In Scar Tissue (the book), A.K. states that he contracted Hepatitis from eating shellfish. If this is true, he would have most likely contracted Hep A, not Hep C. (22 Jan 06 mh)
- I am almost positive that he got the Hep C from sharing needles during his drug days. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Undervenued (talk • contribs) 14:57, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Ethnic cats a little absurd
Currently, Kiedis is listed in the following ethnic categories:
- Lithuanian Americans
- Native American musicians
- Irish-American musicians
- Dutch Americans
- French Americans
- Greek Americans
According to an uncited claim in the article, this follows from his father's Lithuanian ancestry and his mother's mixed ancestry. Seriously though... isn't this a little ridiculous? Kiedis himself probably identifies with only the Lithuanian roots, which would make sense. I suggest removed all the cats except the Lithuanian Americans one. the last time he did any drugs was in early 2000, then he got clean in december of that year.

He has been clean since December 24th 2000. My friend though, thinks he is doing drugs again because the lyrics in slow cheetah. But the first person who posted a comment, where did you get this info?
Well, I also read somewhere that he and John have tried drugs again during the SA tour but that might be trash (like some people always do). It was also said that they did it just for one night, they felt like taking drugs. And remember, Anthony said in Scar Tissue that he felt the rush and feeling of the drugs more and better when he had been clean for a while. And Buster had died who helped him staying clean. All reasons for a relapse.
I hope he's not doing drugs again. GTM: 19:59, 4 January 2007
anthony isnt on the drugs again thats why he wrote the stadium arcadium album if you listen to the words right you will hear this so instead of judgeing him why dont you just listen and yes people do have the right to an opinion its free but please just leave the guy alone hes doing his best still thats hard work in its self or is it just that who ever is judgeing him is just jealous of his extreamly gourgeous and sex appeal that the one guy can have
But then, he promptly got more dogs. He is probably trying to do his best to stay clean, and that why I respect the hell out of him. There we go. Dracwolley 18:14, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Do you have a source or factual evidence to show that Kiedis has been using heroin again? I have no reason to believe that he's using drugs, although I do know that drug addiction is a lifelong battle that's incredibly hard to fight. The lyrics in Stadium Arcadium suggest a very different mentality on substance abuse, as illustrated in Snow: "Come to decide that the things that I tried were in my life just to get high on," and Slow Cheetah: "Waking up dead inside of my head will never do, there is no medicine to take" etc., which implies that his addiction will never really go away, but that he has disciplined himself to appreciate life without drugs, despite the fact that he'll always crave them. Quite frankly, I wouldn't respect Anthony any less if he was doing drugs again, but I have no reason to believe that he's using at the time.Dosed1.0 22:21, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Is the specificity of "China White" heroin necessary? Frankly, I doubt he was horribly picky. A heroin addict is addicted to heroin, not a specific cultivation of it. e.g; An alcoholic isn't addicted to beer, they're addicted to alcohol. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.111.0.34 (talk) 20:47, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Family
How come his father, actor John Kiedis (aka Blackie Dammett) or even mother (Margaret "Peggy" Idema) is nowhere to be found on Anthony's page however his siblings are. Blackie's name is always removed but he played a huge role in Anthony's life, ran the Peppers fan club and still is close with the Peppers fans. Blackie also has his on wiki page. Jason1978 (talk) 6:04, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- Possibly because nobody ever provides reliable sourcing for the information. It appears the article is already tagged for this as an ongoing problem. Any fanclub/wiki pages wouldn't be considered reliable sources, BTW, though they might contain information which could be used to find said sources. Doniago (talk) 06:38, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
His "brother" James....
Technically, I don't think James is actually his brother, he is the son of Blackie Dammett's ex-girlfriend, but I don't think there was an adoption or marriage that took place. I could be wrong, but I'm sure I read that somewhere. If that is the case, this doesn't make James a half-brother of Anthony. If anyone has a citation, and a clue about how to word the family section in light of it, I think it should be changed. Sky83 (talk) 14:36, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

It is hard to be critical of his voice when I am such a Chili Peppers fan. On his own admission he has struggled to bring it together. Under the Bridge as desecribed in his book Scar Tissue being a prime example. On the whole I think he does what he can with his voice and the music and lyrics pick up any slack. His outragious antics and bad boy persona have seemed to be forgiving of any short falls. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pauspink (talk • contribs) 17:40, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
This seems to be some kind of confused debate between people who are able to discern between tenor and baritone singing and those who cannot or seem to think the word "baritone" means "bad singer who did drugs": the range he most commonly sings in is baritone, he is a baritone. In fact, Higher Ground makes a perfect case for this because you can hear him straining on the higher notes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.27.48.162 (talk) 08:45, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Complete rewrite
Hey guys. I am thinking of completely rewriting this article and structuring it more like the John Frusciante and Flea articles. I have many good sources such as his autobiography and the new book that the band just wrote. Right now the article is extremely lacking. It may take a while though. Do you guys support a complete rewrite? Basilisk4u (talk) 02:13, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Scar Tissue as a source
I just noticed that there is only one cited source in this article. I'm thinking about going in and citing things, especially things with a [citation needed] ( or {{fact}}) tags, with Scar Tissue, in appropriate citation format. Does anyone object to this? I have read it, so it's not like I'm just doing it randomly. I know what is and isn't in the book. However, recently a friend of mine and I were talking about it, and he said something along the lines of, "yea, his life is pretty weird...You know its all bullshit that he made up, right?" If the book is "bullshit", it, obviously, isn't a reliable source. Does anyone agree that it is unreliable? Thank you, and it looks like this article is slowly changing from a bunch of goat shit into a good article. Keep up the good work. -Sunshine 02:21, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Uhh... He made the book, it's his memoirs. Why the hell would the book be all bullshit?
However, don't go making every citation needed to his book. I mean, something that happened recently wouldn't be in there, for example, as the book came out in 2004.
Sunshine brings up a good point. A memoir is someone's retelling or recollection of the events of their own life. Such accounts may or may not be all true, just look at James Frey's "A Million Little Pieces". And what is an autobiography but an indirect way of someone editing their own Wikipedia article? The difference here is that in many cases autobiographies will contain many instances of verifiable fact. It wouldn't be appropriate to include NPOV or unverifiable stuff from Kiedis's book. That said, "Scar Tissue" is a good source for an actual timeline of important events and people in Kiedis's life and the RHCP in particular. Deatonjr 08:16, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
If Anthony himself isnt a reliable source, then there is no such thing. Scar Tissue is as reliable, if not more, then any other source one may get information from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.3.171.10 (talk) 20:47, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Condition of this article
I personally feel that this article could use a bit of work. It elaborates a lot on some unimportant things, while leaving out other things. I agree that the trivia section should be put back in, and perhaps added to. Anyone have any more suggestions on how to turn this article into a really good article? Anthony Kiedis is an amazing person and certainly deserves a good article.
- Whole article is a mess and need to be marked for General Clean Up. The section of Personal Life is hilarious - what family this tree are displaying there? I can't understand who's the kid of who there. Westsomething (talk) 23:11, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Relationships
The issues around the relationships he has had (much of it surrounding rumour and unreferenced material) are partly outlines above. I recently did clean-up of this section, which had been tagged. Apparently his current relationship is having problems but nothing has been confirmed by either side on this. Unless this has been done, any rumour or gossip about this should be avoided; see WP:GOSSIP. Karst (talk) 10:39, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- It has now been confirmed he split with Helena Veestergaard after two years is now dating 22 year old model Brazilian model Wanessa Milhomem. The two have been together ever since being first spotted in mid-February 2015 and last night were photographed kissing at the Lakers/Hawks game. Yet another model who is around 30 years younger than he is and she looks a lot like Vestergaard. Of course with the major age gap, I doubt this one will last either. Cant see what he has in common with most of these younger girls who are old enough to be his daughter. Jason1978 (talk) 01:57, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- Actually, neither party confirmed it, although from the Daily Mail images it appears to be fairly self-evident. Whatever the age difference is does not matter. Try to keep this section encyclopaedic please. See WP:BLP on these issues. Karst (talk) 20:51, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

This article needs serious work; the writing sounds like it was written by a bunch of teenagers (which it undoubtedly was), and there's too much about his life and childhood, and not enough about how he plies his trade.--Rschmertz 06:23, 26 September 2006 (UTC) |

Kiedis emergency CPR
Unsure why this keeps being removed but during a break in the band's Carpool Karaoke segment, Kiedis actually saved the life of a baby by performing CPR. I would think this to be pretty relevant information for his article when the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers saves the life of a child. Many major media outlets have reported on it so it's not like it's a joke or a rumor as Kiedis himself confirmed this. Billboard, Spin, People Magazine have all reported on this and those are pretty major sources so not sure what else is needed. http://www.people.com/article/anthony-kiedis-red-hot-chili-peppers-carpool-karaoke-baby Jason1978 (talk) 01:26, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
Lawsuits/public indecency and sexual battery charges
Hi, I'm sorry, but I'm new to Wikipedia editing and English is my second language as well, therefore I'm not really confident to include (potentially unnecessary) information, but I remembered that I read about sexual battery charges against Kiedes some time ago and tried to find more infos regarding the trial here on Wikipedia. However I couldn't even find a trace about this topic in the entire Article. I'm not really familiar with the stories surrounding these incidents, but if I google for "sexual battery Kiedes" these articles by (relatively) trustworthy sources show up: http://www.upi.com/Archives/1990/04/03/Singer-convicted-of-sexual-battery-indecent-exposure/2421639115200/ (apparently he was convicted for both charges?) http://anthonykiedis.net/magazine-scansarticles/1995-1999/1995-2/sky-december-1995/ (again about the sexual battery and public indecency-charges at the time) https://thegrayishcarpet.com/2016/04/20/blood-sugar-sex-dickheads/ (another story about sexual harassment - this time an accusation instead of a conviction by a trial and therefore not relevant for the article? Sorry, I guess this might not fit into Wikipedia being an unprovable incident) I apologize again for putting so much work on someone else, but I was really unsure what the proper thing to do would be. Wish you all a nice day! EDIT: I found another article talking about the charges: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2872744/posts — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.250.202.217 (talk) 18:16, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I noticed this from the LA Times as well. Karst (talk) 21:30, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Navarro
In the section "1998–2010," "Navarro" is introduced for the first time in the article. There should be something about this person in a prior location in the article, because anyone coming in cold is going to ask, "Navarro who?" It's a completely empty reference.Pwrgreg007 (talk) 19:08, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- Much of that section relates to the band and needs to be cut down as it replicated the RHCP article. Karst (talk) 21:40, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Band Formation Information
The article states that the band 'What Is This?' [1] formed originally and changed it's name to Red Hot Chili Peppers. Per the articles for Jack Irons [2] and Hillel Slovak [3], these are separate acts and are only associated by the members involved. Irons and Slovak both quit the RHCP for What Is This before later re-joining. The whole paragraph is not well written and is vague in it's content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.18.191.169 (talk) 18:51, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Hearing Neil Young's Heart of Gold at Age Five
In the article (this part: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Kiedis#Role_in_the_Red_Hot_Chili_Peppers) it says that Anthony Kiedis' first musical memory was hearing Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" at age five. However, given that Kiedis was born on November 1, 1962, and Heart of Gold was released in 1972, that seems highly improbable. Perhaps the error was on Kiedis' end when he gave the interview, but regardless as the article stands right now, it makes no sense. Not sure how that part should be edited exactly, but it's worth noting that it seems to be a factual impossibility given Kiedis' birth date and Heart of Gold's release date. - The statement is sourced, which suggests we should review what the source says before determining how best to proceed. That being said, nowhere in the references does the source appear to be fully fleshed out, which is, to put it mildly, problematic, especially as the same source is apparently used for a number of statements. Can anyone provide more information regarding what this source is supposed to be? If not, we may have a larger problem than this one statement. Doniago (talk) 14:19, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hi! I'm the one who added that information. I have a lot of books about the Red Hot Chili Peppers, so I have been adding information from these books. I forgot to add a bibliography explaining what the book was, and I just added it recently. Sorry for the confusion. That is a little strange though as he claimed to have heard the song five years before it was released, I'm sure that he was just estimating when he heard it, and I assure you that the source is legitimate. The book was basically written by the band itself and compiled by the author. Thank you for noticing the problem! Basilisk4u (talk) 16:47, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps it's time to recognize that Kiedis is not a reliable source on Kiedis? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:282:4300:35C6:6C13:14F6:2921:E969 (talk) 02:56, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
Cher and Anthony
I don’t think Anthony and Cher actually had sex? From what I’ve heard the Italian magazine that is listed as the source translated it wrong and apparently they just slept in the same bed? Plus I haven’t seen him talk about it anywhere else. Moritzcracker (talk) 13:20, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Instruments?
The article says that he plays guitar. Since when is he anything but a singer? Has he played on any of the albums, or just live shows?67.168.191.196 06:48, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- He played guitar from 1992 to about 1996 or 1997 on Give it Away at live shows. :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFnL6KV_KKA

- Indeed, he has played an A chord during the solo of Give It Away from time to time. That's not what I call being a guitar player. Codol 22:12, 9 August 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.250.202.31 (talk)

If he did play guitar on live shows before, of course he can be considered as a guitar player. It absolutely doesn't matter if it was just a chord or not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.94.176.174 (talk) 03:57, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
Promotion of unknown musician
"On September 28, 2021, singer Remi Wolf released her single and music video for her song called "Anthony Kiedis". In the song Wolf sings "I fit my family dynamics, like a Red Hot Chili Pepper, I love my family intrinsically, like Anthony Kiedis."[87]"
Should this be removed? It seems strangely irrelevant to Kiedis and only promotes Remi Wolf. 212.237.134.227 (talk) 21:30, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, that's an inappropriate inclusion. Now removed. Thanks for flagging. Popcornfud (talk) 21:33, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
