BLP Concerns edit

I'm going to stub this article because none of the article is sourced, and much conflicts with WP:BLP --h2g2bob (talk) 23:06, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Old version here. --h2g2bob (talk) 00:20, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Von" Essen edit

An unnamed person has changed all the "Von Essens" to "von Essens", including the ones that start a paragraph and or sentence. Even in German one doesn't do the latter, but this is an article in English, and English-language Wikipedia conforms to the the rules of English grammar. The Von Essen companies can write whatever they like on their own stationery, but then a lower-case V would be part of some misconceived logo; it's still not good English (nor is it German practice, either: in German, you would leave off the "von" altogether in a company's name). JO 24 (talk) 19:42, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Incorrect capitalisation of 'von', as per von Essen corporate visual policy it should always remain lowercase." Whoever you are, you should take note that nobody here is bound by the Von Essen company's so-called "corporate visual policy". Instead, we follow the rules of English grammar whereby sentences start with a capital letter. Please read the paragraph above, where I've spelled it out in more detail.--JO 24 (talk) 16:42, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Revisions by 94.193.122.119 and 109.153.123.162 edit

From February 11-15, 2011, someone removed everything in this article that didn't show the subject in a positive light, including the cited references. The information that remained amounted to an advertisement for Mr Davis and his companies, and that is not the purpose of Wikipedia. Therefore, with the exception of one new piece of information about the London Sunday Times's "Rich List", I've reverted the article to the previous version, which seemed fine. Anyone who does this again should a) not do so anonymously, and b) must be able to justify their changes reasonably; anything else is vandalism. JO 24 (talk) 19:42, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bankruptcy edit

I've revised some of the text, because Davis went broke in April 2011. See this article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2007900/The-star-fantasist-claims-Lord-wealthier-Queen-bankrupt-hotel-empire.htmlJO 24 (talk) 17:17, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good, but does the characterisation 'bankrupt' belong in the first sentence? 76.248.149.98 (talk) 15:38, 12 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've removed it from the opening, and referred to these problems in the business section, using the Evening Standard as source; slightly less tabloid in tone than the Mail. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 19:04, 12 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
