name change edit

Amjad farid sabri's new name is Shaheed Amjad Farid sabri If any one edit his name on wiki I will report that guy Syedishujaat (talk) 02:31, 24 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Syedishujaat: You need to show a reliable source that testifies that Sabri's first name has been officially changed. BTW, you know perfectly well that "shaheed" here is not a name but a honorific, so your repeated changes to the article are disruptive. — kashmiri TALK 09:16, 24 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Out line for students edit

A physicist discusses with physicist in a few words but he gives a comprehensive lecture to his students for their knowledge. Here EN-WP also serves as a virtual teacher. A number of local and foreign language students attempt to trace out material for their dissertations from Wikipedia, so page should be as much comprehensive to provide a good outline. Thus page needs comprehensive development for personal life of Amjad Sabri and his Sufi Kalam (poetry)singing. Nannadeem (talk) 06:08, 25 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to add more information based on sources but paying attention to what Wikipedia is not. In particular, it is not a newspaper, an obituary or a student textbook and students should NEVER be encouraged to prepare their assignments based on Wikipedia. Students should always be instructed that a public Wiki cannot serve as source for academic work. — kashmiri TALK 14:39, 25 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sabri before his murder edit

Kashmiri, I'm not sure why you would remove my edit—especially the first half, "after finishing a morning TV show". This half details what he was doing just before his murder, while the second half, "where his last song included the words “When I shudder in my dark tomb, dear Prophet, look after me”", notes a unique coincidence that he was singing about what he wants when he dies just befored he actually died. I don't think calling it trivia is correct. That is your own unfounded personal opinion. I think you would need the opinions of other editors before you remove content based upon your own unfounded, subjective opinion. --Mawlidman (talk) 10:23, 11 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Dear Mawlidman, what he sung that morning (and perhaps on many preceding days, while preparing for the recording) is utterly irrelevant to his murder. Same as what colour shirt he wore or what he had for breakfast. Even if it happened to be the same as his murderers. Please. Wikipedia is not a celebrity's diary. I also pointed you to WP:BRD several times, why don't you read it? — kashmiri TALK 11:35, 11 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Kashmiri: I understand that Wikipedia is not a celebrity's diary; my edit doesn't promote this. You think that mentioning what he sang is trivia; i think that what he sang is a notable coincidence and of value to the article. But i do agree that "what colour shirt he wore or what he had for breakfast" is irrelevant. --Mawlidman (talk) 02:30, 12 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
