Redirect to Amanita muscaria var. guessowii edit

I propose this article be redirected to Amanita muscaria var. guessowii.

1. This article contains no unique information that would be lost. All of it plus more is already contained in the Amanita muscaria var. guessowii article. It appears to be the more developed version of the two.

2. I know of no taxonomist who has proposed var. formosa over var. guessowii. Jenkins in 1986 was the last taxonomist to use var. formosa I could locate. Just because field guides use out dated information doesn't mean Wikipedia should.

I have Amanita Formosa in my yard, these bright yellow aminita are very different from the red Amanita Muscaria. I also have several other species of Amanita including the Blusher which is an edible Amanita12.187.94.49 (talk) 01:12, 9 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure about this redirect. Are you saying they are the same organism, Dejitarob? Can you state why there should only be one article? --(AfadsBad (talk) 01:34, 9 September 2013 (UTC))Reply

A. muscaria var. formosa in the strict sense is a European taxon. This Wikipedia is horrible, they are giving spore measurements for A. muscaria var. persicina! lol A. muscaria var. guessowii is a eastern United States taxon. A. muscaria var. formosa sensu Thiers is a western United States taxon. All are yellow orange and are different species. DO NOT REDIRECT THIS TO GUESSOWII! Another reason I don't edit here anymore...Amateurs butchering solid info and not listening. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Warriorsoul (talkcontribs) 06:40, 2013 November 7 (UTC)
