On a number of occasions Papahelas has advocated for effective investigative journalism in Greece.^[1] the source quoted is nothing more than a article by Papachelas himself on the errors and omissions of journalists.

The most well-known instance was on May 30, 2010, when he exposed a trail of offshore companies behind former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos’ real estate assets.^[2] The publication that is supposed to be about the expose is again an opinion piece, referring mainly to Costas Simitis D.S.
