Involvement with PETA edit

The article only briefly mentions that he was involved with PETA, however I think an entire section on his eventual integration with Newkirk is in order.Ajkochanowicz (talk) 19:26, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Controversy edit

Shouldn't some of his more contriversal stuff be mentioned as well? Yes.Ajkochanowicz (talk) 19:26, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

"We feel that animals have the same rights as retarded children."

-Alex Pacheco, Director, PETA, New York Times, January 14, 1989.

"Arson, property destruction, burglary and theft are 'acceptable crimes' when used for the animal cause."

-Alex Pacheco, Director, PETA

I don't know if he even agrees with these comments. I just watched the documentary of the other co-founder of PETA on HBO and it's very clear that Pacheco had a major falling-out with Ingrid and he denounced her publicity stunts as well as PETA's unofficial support of the ALF.--Freepablo (talk) 05:28, 24 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Let us upgrade edit

For the year 2006-07, let us concentrate on upgrading the contents of this page as decided: Wales to upgrade quality of Wiki. Thanks. --Bhadani 00:13, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Alex was raised primarily in Portsmouth, Ohio, a small town on the Ohio River. His father is Mexican and a doctor. He exhibited a love of animals even as a boy, filling his house and yard with animalsl, including exotic birds. He was somewhat quiet as a child and young adult, and dated infrequently though many girls would have preferred him to do otherwise. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School (PHS), 1976. Before attending PHS he attended Notre Dame for two years, being allowed to transfer after he and one of his best high school friends asked his parents to dinner and explained why Alex would be better off in a public school. He has yet to attend a high school reunion at PHS.
