uncited claim

According to sceptics, "this case is just another example of a story that sounds good at first, but that dissolves under direct scrutiny. As are so many stories of space alien abduction."

According to which sceptics? What's the citation for this, and what's the "dissolution" ? 46.7.28.113 (talk) 20:32, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

This quote can be traced back to this 2020 addition which cites this article from YorkshireLive. The quote is originally from a (now-defunct) website called The Iron Skeptic, the source article being "Space Monster Murder Mystery?". There's no evidence that this is a WP:RS; the website's FAQ suggests the author has an interest in this area but is not in any way authoritative. MIDI (talk) 08:15, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

why is this here?

why does this guy have a Wikipedia entry? Adamsky I could understand, it's a fairly well known case. But that case is only tangentially related to this gent. Does every unverified UFO claimant get a page now? 2600:6C5D:4D00:39E6:401C:3DCC:621F:E3B8 (talk) 00:59, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

WP:BLP1E clearly applies to this; Godfrey is only notable (if at all) because of the Todmorden UFO incident(s), therefore if there's any article to be had it should be Todmorden UFO incident. The fact that it's not referred to at List of reported UFO sightings might be an indicator that it's not notable at all. I think that the best outcome here would be a new entry at List of reported UFO sightings, with this article redirecting there. MIDI (talk) 15:27, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
