Notability and article quality
edit Moved from User talk:George Ho § Ain't Nobody Like You
I've undone your redirection of that article. #1 on the weekly R&B charts makes a strong case that WP:NSONG might be passed. I haven't done a full source search, so it may turn out to be non-notable yet, but this probably at least needs an overall discussion, because a NSONG case can be made. I've also deprodded the file, as it is now used again. Hog Farm Bacon 18:12, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Hog Farm: To me, US charts alone wouldn't gonna cut it; neither would notability of the song. Being notable alone doesn't guarantee a deserving stand-alone article. Moments ago, I've searched for reliable sources at Google that would have improve the article quality. Instead, other books and news articles made trivial mentions to the song. Well, I found Ebony article, but most of content is inaccessible. However, when I searched for the singer, there's an article about her album Femme Fatale. As I suspect, the article would more likely make the album more notable than the song, which was probably reviewed (in context) as part of the album. I'll search for others at databases of WP:Wikipedia Library soon. George Ho (talk) 19:13, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Finished searching at the Library: just Billboard charts and more trivial coverage of the song... oh, and the song was reviewed but only as part of the album review of Femme Fatale. Have I overlooked something? George Ho (talk) 19:28, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Short review in Cashbox, but that's not much. I found an EM piece that might be decent, but I couldn't access much of that. Beyond that, all I could find were three or four reviews within reviews of the album, which specifically don't count for notability of the song. So George Ho, I no longer object to a merge.
