Notable musicals
editI suggest that we determine which musicals of Ross's were "notable", in the sense that they either had a long original run (say, over 150 performance?) or were frequently revived, or contained some famous songs, and then delete the least successful ones from the list. I have been putting up stubs and articles for some of these musicals, but we should ideally have articles for all of the notable musicals. -- Ssilvers 19:57, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- I don't see why you'd delete the non-notable ones from the list. By definition, the notable ones will be those with Wikipedia articles (links). By the same argument, the non-notable works by Arthur Sullivan and W. S. Gilbert would be deleted from the lists at the end of their articles. Marc Shepherd 20:52, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. Leave the list as it is, and change the heading. PaulJones 19:24, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
A southern maid
editAdrian Ross does not seem to have had anthing to do with the musical "A Southern Maid" from 1920 at Daly's (5 years after George Edwardes death) (and earlier in 1917 at Princes Theatre). There was a 1933 film of the same name that had a costume designer named Adrian Ross. This was a misunderstanding by the Boisestate site. See [1] and [2]. --Ssilvers 04:23, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Amazon would seem to disagree [[3]] as does this Ivor Novello listing [[4]]. Could it be that the Adrian Ross lyrics were stuck in for the 1920 revival? PaulJones 09:24, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
There is some contradictory info out there on Google, so I am not sure, but after more research, I am more comfortable that Ross provided some lyrics. --Ssilvers 14:56, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
