editI don't want to invoke the dreaded spectre of original research but a quick skim through Google shows AJ Valpy to have published more than the odd pamphlet or book around or about Jamaica, including at least one volume of verse by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. There is a major patron of Samuel Palmer and Dante Gabriel Rossetti called Leonard Rowe Valpy, a solicitor in Lincoln's Inn Fields in later life, who acted for John Ruskin among others, who had in his twenties and early thirties spent time in jamaica, where he practised as an attorney at law. There are more Valpys than one might think, and LR Valpy's ancestry isn't easily traceable. Surely there is more light to be thrown on the two I've mentioned than this94.193.114.140 (talk) 08:40, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
Footnote to the previous entry - Ancestry, the LDS website, thinks LR Valpy might have been AJ Valpy's nephew. This looks plausible, but it needs confirmation94.193.114.140 (talk) 09:38, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
