I will work to trim it down some. I figured it was easier to put it in then take it out then to try to add it all later.
Question: There appears to be a "redirect" someplace that sends people who search for "57th Medical Detachment (Helicopter Ambulance)" to a section on the Army Medical Department article of only marginal relevance. Any idea on how I can find it and kill it?Don.H.40 (talk) 03:01, 25 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Never mind. I fixed the redirect. Although I would prefer to delete it and just rename the article "57th Medical Detachment (Air Ambulance)"Don.H.40 (talk) 03:12, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Too long edit

User:Don.H.40 this page is way too long. You need to remove the trivia. For each year it should only detail major operations, key statistics and aircraft losses, not every trivial mission flown. Mztourist (talk) 03:37, 25 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have deleted some personnel strength information and awards information, and will look to doing some streamlining. I figured it was better to add and then subtract than to go light and then try and add more later. As to your other comments about major operations and aircraft losses, it was a six-ship detachment that was employed on an area basis--as were all subsequent Dustoff units in the war (less the two units organic to the 101st Airborne Division and the 1st Cavalry Division (airmobile))--and a key statistic for an aeromedical evacuation unit is number of missions flown, hours flown, and patients evacuated.Don.H.40 (talk) 03:11, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

N+1'ing the length concerns, this is incredibly far off WP:SUMMARYSTYLE, and the latest addition of 20k bytes since the length concerns were first raised is not helping in the least. I'd almost consider draftification at this point, given that this is turning into an indiscriminate pile of copied public domain text. Ljleppan (talk) 06:14, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
For context, this is now about twice the length of our article on World War 2. Ljleppan (talk) 06:17, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
So how does one drafticate it? Although I woiuld argue your use of indiscriminate.Don.H.40 (talk) 18:32, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
