– Similar to the UEFA Euro 2020, the Norwegian Football Cup for 2021 was delayed due to the Pandemic. (The 2020 version was cancelled). This delay also resulted in a delay of the 2022 Norwegian Cup, and both tournaments were played over two calendar years instead of one. It was however always called "Cupen 2021" in Norwegian even if the four last rounds was played in 2022, and "Cupen 2022" when the last four rounds was played in 2023.

As a concrete example: The two teams that was promoted from second tier in 2022, Brann and Stabæk, was still considered second-tier teams for the last rounds of the 2022 Cup even when 2023 Eliteserien had started and they were playing in the first tier at the time of the cup-matches. This resulted in Stabæk playing the Quarterfinal at home against Molde, since it's always the team from the lowest divisions that plays the cup-matches at home.

Also if you google "Cupfinalen 2022" you'll get results from the match between Brann and Lillestrøm from May 2023, while googling "Cupfinalen 2021" will give you results from the match between Molde and Bodø/Glimt in May 2022. There is a lot of examples of this. The Cup that was played in 2021-22 is called "Cupen 2021" and the Cup that was played in 2022-23 is called "Cupen 2022", and the articles should be moved to reflect this. 2A01:799:1A2:8D00:4DBC:9308:F6E1:9FF1 (talk) 17:56, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
