Merge with the July/October 2020 foreshocks? edit
The USGS has confirmed that the July and October 2020 earthquake sequences were both foreshocks to the recent 8.2 event in the same location. Each article for the aforementioned 2020 quakes are small, and can easily be accommodated into this article about the mainshock. I suggest a title along the lines of "2020-21 Alaska Peninsula Earthquakes". I'd like to hear other ideas of what we can to to assess this, so please leave your opinions below. The foreshocks of 2020 did not have any notable impacts in Alaska other than tsunami warnings so I have no objections with the merge of the other two articles. I noticed that the suggestion of merging the October quake with the July event was also raised when it was created, but it was never merged. Requesting to move back to 2021 Shumagin earthquake edit
I specifically did not want this to be named "Alaska Peninsula earthquake". I saw the discussion with the July 2020 quake and how it was too generic. Personally, I agree it is very generic and I think "Shumagin earthquake" is consistent with the name of the seismic gap.--CactusTaron (Nopen't) 09:40, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
