Page creation edit

@PeeJay: Why is it too soon, when they have qualfiied for the Premier league, the Champions League and have been assured of playing in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup? Many other articles (2021–22 Everton F.C. season, 2021–22 West Ham United F.C. season) have also been created recently, so why not redirect them?--Sakiv (talk) 13:09, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Because I wasn't aware of those other articles. Seems too soon for me, especially when we don't actually know whether Citeh will play in those competitions yet. – PeeJay 13:29, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Player ages template edit

The players in last season's article are showing the same age as this season because of the continued incorrect use of this template. Will be fun to revisit these articles in fifteen years and be impressed that there were so many 40-year-olds playing in City's team. - Seasider53 (talk) 17:52, 4 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. That isn't correct. For at least the last 3 seasons I've modified the First team squad table at the end of the season to add a parameter which sets the age permanently as of the last game of the season. Looking back this has been done for each season since 2011-12 when this template was used for the first time.
e.g. for last season:
{{fb si player |bg=|p={{sortname|Kevin|De Bruyne}}|nb=BEL |n=17 |pos=MF |age={{Age|1991|6|28|2021|05|29}} |s={{sort|2015.0|2015}} |a=262 |g=67 |e=2025 |f={{ntsh|54.5}}£54.5m|notes=Vice captain}}

First Team squad list edit

I think there should some consistency in the players included in the squad list on the current season page, the first team players listed on the Manchester City F.C page; the EDS and U-18 squads listed on the City EDS and Academy page, and the club's own listing of first team and EDS players on the club website[1] (although this sometimes takes some time to be updated by the club's content team).

I have therefore deleted from the First team list the current EDS players: Kayky, Delap, Mbete, McAtee and Lavia to be consistent with these other sources. I am aware that these players have all made recent first team appearances and regularly train with the first team, but it seems that the club still seems to deem them as EDS squad players for now. Please discuss if you don't feel this is an appropriate approach. Cole Palmer is listed as a first team player Thanks Ratchet8865 (talk) 15:19, 27 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

First Team squad list to include assists edit

Hi. What about adding assists data to the current first team squad table. There are now many sources of fairly reliable and consistent data regarding assists in major competitions that goes back at least 10 years or more and so should be usable for the currently active players. I have created a couple of new templates to do this and have updated the current table accordingly, using data mostly from fbref.com which seems to be a recognised reliable source. Please look at the table and let me know your thoughts. I have archived the old table incase there is a need to revert. Thanks Ratchet8865 (talk) 16:04, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Team photos edit

Does anybody have self taken pictures of players or managers with the PL trophy from Sunday's game or the trophy parade on Monday that they can upload to use on this page? Thanks Ratchet8865 (talk) 13:38, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
