More Leagues edit

Should we also include on this page the tables of the W-League and the National Youth League? Should we include the National Premier Leagues?
Macosal your thoughts, as always, will be appreciated.

W-League - yes, that seems relevant/applicable. NPL seems probably too broad (all 7 tables + finals and it'd start to clog up the list). Also other articles such as 2014–15 in English football seem to only list competitions which are held on a national level. NYL is a bit ambiguous but I'd probably say yes given the lack of other leagues and minimal difference it'd make. Macosal (talk) 11:10, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Men's senior edit

I think the place to have most of the information (record, statistics, full match details) of Australia's senior men would be at 2014 Australia national soccer team season. On this page I think there is only need for a short prose paragraph with the tournaments, matches and results. Macosal I feel your thoughts are different? --SuperJew (talk) 15:48, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I would say that the mere fact that they can be found elsewhere does not mean that they should not be found here. It would be incongruous to have detailed listings for every other national team but none for the men's senior team on this page. There is no reason why the two pages cannot co-exist - England national football team results – 2000s replicates 2014–15 in English football, for example. And as said before, Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Country seasons sets a pretty clear precedent for what this type of article should/shouldn't contain. Futsal edit

What do we think? Is it appropriate to put Futsal competitions on this page? It is a variant of soccer. --SuperJew (talk) 09:17, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I don't think so (not generally considered to be a part of association football on Wikipedia in general - more a separate sport of its own) although other people may think otherwise and I'm not 100% sure either way. Macosal (talk) 15:17, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

World Cup & Asian Cup qualifiers edit

I am debating where to put Australia's WC&AC qualifier matches. On one hand I think it is right to keep them together (therefore in next season), but on the other hand one match (16 June 2015), falls technically in this season.

Thoughts? --SuperJew (talk) 11:21, 14 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Macosal, I'm guessing your latest edit implies your thoughts? --SuperJew (talk) 07:29, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, I'd thought to put it there yeah just on the basis that it was technically within the year for this one. I don't know, whilst in this case it almost neatly covers one season page, it might not in latter stages so I figure a stricter approach may make things easier. That being said, I'd definitely say more discrete comps (e.g. World Cups) should all be kept on one article. What do you reckon? I'm happy to go either way on this one.

Hmm, your comment made me look at the schedule, and it does seem the 3rd round will be from September 2016-September 2017, so it does sound preferable to keep it separate with the stricter approach. --SuperJew (talk) 08:08, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
