Talk:2012 Oregon elections

Merger edit

We should merge Oregon elections, 2012 into this article. There is a lot of duplicate info, but the polling info from that article should be added here. The "state elections" titling is what we have mostly used, though both styles have been used in the past. I'm not hung up on the title. We just don't need two articles with the same content. --Esprqii (talk) 05:17, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

In terms of the name of the articles, I would suggest that in the future, if any local elections information is included in these Oregon state elections, XXXX articles that the page be moved to Oregon elections, XXXX format. This is what is done for the California elections pages and I think it would be a good idea, although, low priority and only if local elections are included (mayoral, etc.). It would also require changing double or multiple redirects, which is a pain. --Curoi (talk) 20:04, 27 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Presidential results edit

The Oregon Secretary of state has "Pacific Green" and "Progressive" instead of "Green" and "Peace and Freedom", plus two of the candidate names are different. How did the elections for those parties work? Should I just put in the names that the SoS has?

SoS names/parties:

Jill Stein (Pacific Green)
Ross C (Rocky) Anderson (Progressive)
Will Christensen (Constitution)

The Pacific Green Party is affiliated with the Green Party but does have a different name. The Oregon Progressive Party is different from the P&F Party, though probably has a similar outlook. I'd have to go back and look, but I seem to recall those parties had conventions over the summer to choose their candidates. I'd use the names the SoS does, which it looks like you did. Great job on starting to fill in the data. BTW I think the House of Representatives tables should be moved out to the separate article and then just summarized here, otherwise this article is going to be really long, especially when we add the state office results (Treasurer, SoS, etc.). --Esprqii (talk) 16:57, 7 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Replace polling with results edit

We need to replace the polling boxes with result boxes, in the state office sections.
