Pick #49 - Jaguars to Redskins edit

This was a part of the Jags moving up to the 10th pick http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/rounds/_/round/2/year/2011 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.91.28.231 (talk) 02:13, 29 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done This trade has been documented.— DeeJayK (talk) 17:07, 29 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

format edit

If someone more able than I am could turn the two current lists into 2-column (at minimum) lists, that would be great. IMHO.--Epeefleche (talk) 06:12, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I believe that the lists that Epeefleche was referring to with this request have been replaced or removed, so this request can be considered closed.— DeeJayK (talk) 17:09, 29 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

there is an error in the paragraph regarding the Panthers first selection. first of all it is 'Auburn University' not University of Auburn , also some upset alabama fan changed the link to link to the alabama wiki rather then auburn's. 141.70.68.148 (talk) 11:59, 30 April 2011 (UTC)a guy that saw something wrong.Reply

Done This is now corrected. I believe that I was the one who inadvertently stated that Newton played for 'Bama, but all has now been fixed. Sorry for the confusion.— DeeJayK (talk) 14:17, 30 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

GOOD! edit

Now fix the dang column sorting on ALL of the draft year page templates. Only about 3 of them are working properly. Somebody messed up the sorting in the re-do. IdioT.SavanT.i4 (talk) 22:48, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Pick #205 - Broncos to Lions edit

Does anyone have any information on the trade that brought the second pick in the seventh round (#205 overall) to the Lions from the Broncos? The only two recent trades between these two teams that I can dig up are the Tony Scheffler deal and the Alphonso Smith/ Dan Gronkowski deal.

The Scheffler deal appears to have included only players and 2010 draft picks. The Smith/Gronk deal was to have included a "late-round" (presumably 2011) draft pick, but that pick was to have gone the opposite way — from the Lions to the Broncos, according to all the reports I have uncovered. Any chance that this trade was misreported or the draft pick compensation was conditional based on performance and subsequently awarded to the Lions? Any ideas? — DeeJayK (talk) 21:22, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

FWIW (although not a reliable source) according to [1] each team may have traded away a draft pick and a player in the Smith/Gronkowski trade. Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:59, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the tip. I feel like this is probably correct, but I'd really like to get a bit more reliable source. It appears that the Broncos received pick number #186 from the Lions and the Broncos sent the Lions #205. Wish I could find this information documented by a more reliable source, but my Google Fu is failing me. If no one comes up with a better source in a day or two, I'll go ahead and update the article using this source. — DeeJayK (talk) 22:37, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've updated the article with the info above. If anyone comes up with a more definitive/reliable source, please feel free to update it.— DeeJayK (talk) 15:46, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Potential changes to player selections table "look and feel" edit

There has been discussion on the 2010 Draft talk page regarding some proposed tweaks to the layout of the player selection table(s) for this and the other NFL Draft articles. The primary issue that is being raised (again) is with the heavy bold line which is currently being used to demarcate the individual rounds. The problem with the current approach is that when the table is sorted (by anything but pick #) the bold lines are distributed rather randomly and lose all meaning. A suggestion was made to color-code the rounds instead. I have mocked up the proposed change in my sandbox. I'd welcome any opinions on the proposals.— DeeJayK (talk) 03:26, 9 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think the colors for rounds 6 and 7 are too similar, but overall I like this over the bold line. Eagles 24/7 (C) 03:50, 9 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the feedback on the colors. I've changed the color for round 6 to provide more contrast. I've also gone ahead and implemented these changes to the templates. I'm not getting much feedback here, so perhaps implementing the change will spark the discussion.— DeeJayK (talk) 12:28, 10 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
The colors look great and is much better than the bold line.»NMajdan·talk 17:35, 3 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Jump to" not working edit

THe "Jump to" thing at the start of the draft isn't working - and I'm not sure how to fix it. Can someone correct this please? 188.221.79.22 (talk) 13:53, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done This is fixed. It was an issue with the template.— DeeJayK (talk) 14:17, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Missing Trade? edit

I do not see this trade in this Wikipedia article.

There are currently a number of trades that are missing and/or lacking citations. I am working on getting this all sorted out and that effort should be complete by the end of the week (if not sooner).— DeeJayK (talk) 01:43, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Done I believe that this and ALL of the draft trades are now documented and cited. If anyone notices any further discrepancies or omissions, please feel free to fix it or to let me know.— DeeJayK (talk) 17:00, 3 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

edit

Just thought i would just let you know i have uploaded a vector version of the logo. The one used previously was low quality. This one looks much better. --JetBlast (talk) 18:33, 28 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

NFL Undrafted Players section edit

Has reverted the edits in the Notable Undrafted Player section of the 1995 NFL Draft, 1996 NFL Draft, 1998 NFL Draft, 1999 NFL Draft, 2007 NFL Draft, 2009 NFL Draft, 2011 NFL Draft, 2012 NFL Draft, and others. Putting players that did not have a notable career and are just classified as undrafted. This is not the first time that it has happened with this user, so I would ask for somebody to review this case, because the essence of this section is to be selective with the players being put there.Makers267 (talk) 19:08, 12 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Notable undrafted players edit

Let's see the career stats of the players I removed, everyone will notice that they are not notable:

Are they notable? I think that absolutely no. Plus, none of them won a Super Bowl or something like that, let alone achieved individual highlights. Sergio Skol (talk) 01:16, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

None of those are notable undrafted players and if we included them we'd have to include several hundred other players for basically just playing in the NFL. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:15, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
[continued from User talk:Hey man im josh] I meant that that is what I usually see with lists on the site. If there is an agreement to not have them on this list, that is fine with me. QuicoleJR (talk) 14:11, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
My understanding is that we have historically treated it similarly to the free agent section of the NFL season articles, where we do not include everybody but instead include the most notable. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:19, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Makes sense. QuicoleJR (talk) 14:32, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Personally, I agree that they should be removed. Also, I nominated Richard Medlin for deletion here. QuicoleJR (talk) 14:16, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
