Red-links edit

Red-links might be taken as an invitation to create an article. Most of these players will not have references to qualify them for articles under WP:BIO other than by WP:ATHLETE, and they play in a professional sport but not (yet, at least) at a professional level. OK, fair enough - but can you wait for a couple of hours? I'm doing some simultaneous work on the PDL pages where drafted players came from, and it would be INCREDIBLY helpful if you could leave the redlinks until I'm finished. --JonBroxton (talk) 21:02, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think it really ought to be the other way round. Give it two hours and these red links could easily be filled with premature bios on as of yet non-notable players. Why not delink them now, before we end up with dozens of potential PRODs or AFDs. Peanut4 (talk) 21:31, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Please change all previous SuperDrafts then. It's always been this way, it's easiest for season tracking and saves going back changing it throughout the season. RichardDSFAR (talk) 21:34, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Can we remove the redlinks for guys that never played in the PDL/USL? It might deter some article creation. Jogurney (talk) 22:26, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
The PDL is not a professional league, and none of the players (according to the info here) have played for USL div 1 or 2 teams. So that'll be all the redlinks then... Kevin McE (talk) 22:15, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, I was just about to do that. Adding the links back once the player makes his debut will be fairly easy. --JonBroxton (talk) 22:25, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Previous team edit

I'll admit to ignorance about the project, but it is not immediately clear from its article whether Generation Adidas is actually a team. Do 11 guys run onto a pitch as the Generation Adidas team to play against another team? If not, should it be in the pervious team slot, or should this contract be marked by an asterisk and explained as a footnote? Kevin McE (talk) 23:39, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think the asterisk idea is a good one. From my understanding 'Generation Adidas' is not a team, but a contract option which MLS negotiates that allows certain young players to have their salaries not count against salary caps, and some other legal jiggery-pokery. --JonBroxton (talk) 23:46, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dead link edit

During several automated bot runs the following external link was found to be unavailable. Please check if the link is in fact down and fix or remove it in that case!
