If there are several disasters that have occurred at this mine which have resulted in significant loss of life

edit

And the mine doesn't have an article... we could merge this and create an article about the mine, as they are almost as significant and combined, they are more significant in terms of loss of life in numbers. It seems like the other articles don't exist due to Wikipedia not being as prominent then.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 22:22, 19 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree that all the disasters should be discussed in a single article - and it might as well be in the article about the mine itself. Dcoetzee 11:26, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Russian and Ukrainian language versions

edit

Both the Russian and Ukrainian language versions don't have a link to the English version of this article. Is it because I moved it from Zasyadko mine disaster to 2007 Zasyadko mine disaster? And can someone who speaks those languages solve this problem? Thanks. -- Tocino 03:22 20 November 2007 (UTC)

I have the links, there's just one problem. Both the Russian and Ukrainian versions are about the mine, not the disaster. Of course the catastrophe is mentioned, but still, it is a different article. Should we include it or not? The links are

ru:Шахта имени Засядько and
uk:Шахта імені О. Ф. Засядька. Regards, Bogdan що? 03:37, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I knew about that when I added them.. I agree that having an article about the accident in both Ukrainain/Russian would be best, but that is as close as we get.. Of course we could create an article about the Zasyadko Mine, which would virtually contain the same info + more.. —dima/talk/ 04:32, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
I believe the best solution would be to create a short article about this particular diaster in both Russian and Ukrainian. I think if we were to create an article in English about the mine itself, then it would need lots of details about its history which would be difficult to find out about. Also I have a feeling that the English article about the mine would not be accessed very much, while articles about the current disaster in Russian and Ukrainian would receive a lot of hits and edits. --Tocino 19:58, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The misleading map

edit

Ladies and gentlemen, I find the map at the top of the article nice but totally misleading, considering the fact that it is in Russian and doesn't indicate the mine itself. If the contributor who added it is willing to help, he'd better redesign the image keeping only the city and the names of the oblast and the countries. The real need here is for a collage of world map showing Ukraine and Ukraine's map indicating Donetsk (like those graphics in TV newscasts).
