Web sites

Are there any sites which are specifically for finding when new music albums and new bands exist? that would be a good thing to either have linked into here, or to some music article..

Switchfoot.com reports that the actual release date of "Nothing Is Sound" by Switchfoot is scheduled for September 13, 2005 as opposed to the reported July 19, 2005.

"Cigaro" by System of a Down

To someone who keeps re-adding "Cigaro" by System of a Down on the Top Hits list:

The same guy is adding children's songs from TV shows to the list. He is also adding misinformation about bands such as Green Day, SOAD, and Alice In Chains, mainly putting in incorrect release dates. He also made up his own name for the upcoming Strokes album. He is now blocked for two weeks for this vandalism. Maybe you could try talking to him, what he is doing is very similar to what you used to do. Rhobite 21:30, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

Top Hits of 2005

This list should be limited to include only the songs which hit the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 during 2005. Some songs which were only minor hits, and others which were not hits at all (such as DOA by the Foo Fighters) are being deleted. Sebastian Prospero 03:33, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

Crazy Frog

Is 'Crazy Frog released to the annoyance of millons' a NPOV? I sure was annoyed but it must have been popular to warrant the amount of people who purchased it. I'm not sure how to put it there though

Album formatting

The album section on these "years in music" pages is really difficult to read. It's much easier on the UK versions (ex: 2005 in music (UK)). Anyone think this should be fixed? Or is there a particular reason that it's like this? Tomtheman5

I may be doing this wrong. But the deaths of Pope John Paul II and of Terry Schiavo should be put in to wherever they belong (I think John Paul was on April 1 or 2 and Terry Shiavo around there too). (unsigned, unknown poster)

Musical Theater

There's an entry for a musical titled "One Life" here. I've never heard of it. Best I got on researching it is from here, where I find that a) it was performed initially at a high school, b) it concerns the history of the Mormon church, to which one can infer a relatively limited audience, and c) the creators are not significant enough to have gotten their own Wikipedia entry or even a mention of a previous musical about Jane Eyre in the entry for Jane Eyre. I have trouble with the idea that this is even here, so I'm asking if anyone else knows anything about it. salamurai 07:23, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Albums Released List

For this list, is there a reason for the dates to all have parentheses () around them? It looks terrible. In addition, some of the dates are wikilinked, and others are not. I would think it would be better to either not wikilink any of them, or do each first instance. Also, perhaps it should be noted that it's a selected list, as it would be difficult to list EVERY album that came out in a given year? Anyone got any thoughts? I formatted the albums list to match the other Year in Music articles, and fixed some incorrect wikilinks. Not only is it more readable, but it knocked 5 KB off the article size. In the process, I also removed a few albums that I couldn't verify. Either the release dates were verified to be wrong, or the only other websites which referenced them were mirrors of Wikipedia, indicating original research.
