Proposal to delete all reference to the game
editNow that the BCS has nullified the 2004 National Championship and the victory in this game is also vacated, I propose this page be revamped to simply note that the game has, effectively, been completely nullified and should be treated as if it never took place. --Starcade (talk) 20:57, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Controversy Surrounding Undefeated Teams
editShould we mention the controversy surrounding the number of undefeated teams in this season? At the end of the regular season there were five undefeated teams (the most since 1979): Auburn, Boise State, Oklahoma, USC, and Utah. This caused quite a bit of controversy, especially surrounding the choice of Oklahoma and USC over Auburn. The decision to exclude Auburn from the BCS Championship game was often used by opponents of the system as an example of the need for a playoff system such as had already been implemented in the FCS.

Oklahoma National Champion.
editIf USC forfeits the game then Oklahoma is the undefeated national champion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:805:4200:C4C0:98CE:C594:5035:6C4E (talk) 11:51, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
